Slow fishing from the bank
Something I rarely see when asking about fishing slow is this: We all know fishing slow is moving the bait very slowly, but how far are you moving it? I've found that moving a bait 6 inches rather than 2-3 feet can make a big difference. Rather than raising my rod tip from say 9-10:00 to 11-12:00 I use a side sweep like with a C-rig and can c-r-a-w-l it along inches at a time.

Missing fish on spinnerbaits
I'm with Fisher of Men-sharpen the hooks. For attaching a trailer hook I use a hole punch on a plastic coffee can lid and use one of the plastic disks to keep it on. I like to have trailer hooks free swinging, so I put the trailer hook on the main hook, then punch the point of the main hook through the center of the plastic disk and slide it down on the main hook, like this:

How many fishing forums are you a member of?
I'm a member of a bunch, but find myself spending most of my time on 3-4.

Rain gear
BillyBob, I've had the bibs for a couple of years now. I wouldn't get the pants-been there and done that with other raingear, and it wasn't the big bass sending chills up my spine ;D

Fishing Logs
Microsoft Works, K_Mac-I thought most of the PCs had it, but I'm finding that isn't the case.

Same here.

Fishing Logs
K_Mac-I use the voice memo of my cell phone. Just make a voice memo to myself. For the log I made one using Microsoft Works, which most people have on their computer. I start in the list view of the database, and can then go to form view and print out the record. I uploaded it so if anybody is interested they can download a copy: Fishing Log Just click on save after you click on the link and you are good to go.

Rain gear
Take a look at Frogg Toggs. Real light, won't cost you an arm and a leg, and best of all, they work! I've also got a set of BPS HPR raingear, but unless it is cold I use the Frogg Toggs, and even they will work well when it is a little cool out. If you go that route get the Anglers suit-it has the bibs, and I'd also get the stuff sack-stores it in a real neat package you can keep on the boat. Here is a link to look at them: http://www.anglersupply.com/product.cfm?model=Pro%20Angler%20Suit&manufacturer=Frogg%20Toggs

favorite little tackle accessory
One of these: Fits in your pocket and worth it's weight in gold at times. I NEVER hit the lake without at least 1. Have not lost a fish to a dull hook in a loooong time.

OUTSTANDING! Glad you got it back up, Glenn!

How to fish water with heavy moss underneath?
These guys covered it extremely well. I'd throw a spinnerbait, a trap, and a soft jerkbait to start.

You can learn a lot from a dummy.
I love to teach people about fishing. If I can help somebody out it makes my day. I also learn a lot in the process. Regarding this site-I've learned a lot, and even got a new fishing buddy. This past Saturday I spent the morning fishing with Flyrod, and we had a great time-I think the final count was 14 in the boat. Nothing big, but great to get out on the water. I never would have gotten acquainted with him otherwise.

texas rigs
Or the chartreuse Tiki Stick ;D. I'm not sute what it represents-I just know they work! I don't think anyone here would make fun of you for asking a question. That is how you learn. And that is a good question to ask.

Welcome to the forum! From what I understand Eagle Mountain is a tough lake to fish. There are a lot of guys in the DFW area that will help you out.

Help Please-small pond-bigguns wont bite
The "match the hatch" is the way to go-if you can see what they are feeding on, throw something that resembles it. that will put fish in the boat. Good luck!

Ball Bearing Swivels vs Crane Swivels
Ball bearings are the way to go. I use the spinnerbait swivels from Stamina and have been very pleased with them. Here is the link to Stamina: http://www.staminainc.com/main.html

catch and release...
I catch and release for one simple reason: I like catching them a whole lot more than eating them ;D
