When Is The Water Temp Considered Winter?
Here in south Texas "winter" is when the water temp drops below 50. We rarely have lakes/ponds freeze over but the smaller bodies of water do get ice on them at times but it does not last long.

Fish Finder not spotting fish
I never chart fish-not what I'm looking for. I have 2 of those units, and use then to find structure/cover the fish are around . I don;t know anyone who uses them to find fish-they use them for finding structure/cover.

How long is your "day" on the water?
It varies-anywhere from 4-10 hours.

Why the difference between spinning and baitcasting reel handles?
Yep-I put one on one of my cranking reels-bade a big difference in how the reel handles(pardon the pun ;D)

Good beginners bass rod and reel
Take a look at the Bass Pro Shops Extreme combos. Great rods/reels for the $$$. Been using them for years and been real happy with them.
-
Good casting rod
In reality, any rod in that range will be good. AllStars are great rods.

Best Worm/Jig Rod for Less Than $150
Ditto.

Bill Dance's Hook Remover ???
Best thing I have found for removing hooks from deeply hooked fish.

Pegging Tungsten Weights
I like the rubber peg it, too. That reminds me-I need to get some more

What do you think........
I'd still take all of them. My first inclination is a suspending jerkbait, especially in water that cold.

A color or pattern on a bait that you CANNOT stand
Firetiger and clown. Never caught anything on either color.

P-line Floroclear
I use it for all my mono applications except topwater. I absolutely love it. tough, strong, and handles like a dream. I use it on both baitcasters and spinning reels. I recommend it to anybody that asks.

Swept in handles on casting reels, love 'em or hate 'em??
I like them, but don't have a problem with straight handles either. It really doesn't matter one way or the other which handle type my reel has.
-
Lipless Crank Rig
I used to think I needed a technique specific rod but then realized I did not. I use a Falcon Low Rider 6-6 M action rod and a BPS Extreme 7.1:1 reel. It has served me well for several years now.

Rear Drag Spinning reels
Good info! I am planning on getting another Symetre-if you are thinking about getting one you will not regret it-and was debating getting a rear drag. Y'all made up my mind for me-front drag.

trailer hook...what size...or do you use one??
Not sure of the size. Several years back I bought a bag of trotline hooks. They size is right and the eye is big enough to go over the barb of any spinnerbait/buzzbait hook. MUCH cheaper than the hooks sold as trailer hooks.

H20 XPRESS baits...Any good?
Great baits. From what I understand they are made by Lucky craft. Looking at the finishes/quality I would not be surprised. Academy does not sell online-they probably should. fortunately I live about one mile from an Academy store ;D

Superstions?
Nope, no superstitions at all. I do for other things, but not fishing. Even bananas in the boat don't bother me.

HELP!!! What size snaps?
It really depends on personal preference. I just read where Boyd Duckett, 2007 Classic winner, uses one on his crankbaits. I trust my knots more than a snap, but it makes sense.

LMB laughed at me today....
Marked, I hooked a double digit bass a few years back that came up to the surface, smiled at me then dove into the hydrilla and snapped the line. What drove me nuts was right before the cast I told myself I needed to switch to braid-I had an identical rig on the deck spooled with braid. Ever notice you remember the fish you lost much longer than the ones you catch?

What Weight Do You Use?
Couldn't have said it better myself. The subtle movement as it falls is what makes this bait such a fish catcher. If you T-rig it with a bullet weight it kills the action, where a keel weighted hook does not.
