  1. mr. fitzgerald is the real deal. i'd be happy if just half the people in the world had his attitude.
  2. the wife makes chili. i smoke babybacks. we both drink cold beer. life is good.
  3. let's just say i'll be watching re-runs of rachel ray at halftime.
  4. arbor, as well. i tape any ventilated spool with teflon tape first. just a habit.
  5. ordered a steez from them once. card was charged and confirmation was sent...unfortunately, no reel was ever sent. a quick phone call cleared it up...they're good folks but, like all folks, they do make honest mistakes. and, as stated, a lotta stores simply dropship gloomis straight from the factory. i would still call them.
  6. 5 lb. muskie spinnerbait. had a spinner the size of a vw hubcap with a trailer that looked more like a raccoon's tail. and even tho the closest muskie to me is right at 1100 miles away, at the time, it made perfect sense for me to have that bait.
  7. first time my uncle ever saw a set of $2000 rims on a $200 car... "looks like socks on a rooster."
  8. if i'm not mistaken, charlie ingram had something to do with the design. that should explain things a little better.
  9. if we had some bacon, we could have some bacon and eggs...if we had any eggs.
  10. my daughter once got a summer job checking out groceries at kroger. when she got home, she asked me what home fries were...apparently, they were the special of the day and she had checked out quite a few packs of them. shoulda seen her face when i told her. after that, it was goodbye kroger and hello blockbuster.
  11. depends on the lure, imo. having to speed up a 5:1 reel feels just as awkward to me as having to slow down a 7:1.
  12. "buzzards gotta eat, too".
  13. one more for the cbr845. it does too many things too well.
  14. x2. they may be able to pick out things we don't notice but, if bass could see detail as well as humans, they would never try to eat a spinnerbait.
  15. depends on how much space you have and how much you wanna spend. gloomis and st. croix come to mind. that said, i generally just keep a 2 piece shimano compre wrapped in a towel in the toolbox of my pickup.
  16. i use the 12# hybrid for all moving baits anymore...all in all, it leans more towards the xt type of lines than an xl type of line. not near as unmanageable in the colder waters, imo, as the xt or big game.
  17. for under $100, the compre line (and warranty) are hard to beat.
  18. xfast on plastics. can live with f or mf on evrything else.
  19. am impressed with how smooth the e5 handles the flat cb d20's and dd-22's. 3/4 oz. blades, as well.
  20. with his success, he should never have been allowed IN kc.
  21. have used jigs up to 1/2 oz. with no problem...with braid. with mono or fluoro, 15# is about the limit as far as casting performance...can get by with 20# if pitching. that said, there are arguably better reels out there for those apps...finesse is where it shines, imo.
  22. your b-i-l has issues, doesn't he? :
  23. if you're fishing braid, stay away from the recoils. the sound is a mix between fingernails on a blackboard and hilary clinton.
