  1. would have to hold it in my hand to really tell you...$70 seems about average for that reel in above average condition. that said, unless you're really crazy about the reel, i would add a few bucks and get the citica e, as well.
  2. jointed rapala floater and the g-splash have been very good to me in recent years. the roumba is fast gaining.
  3. for the money, the curado e7 is tough to beat.
  4. 3/0 ewg superline and 6/0 ewg superline will cover all my bases with plastic.
  5. "said i had no use for a six-shooter...never said i didn't know HOW to use one." quigley
  6. good choice...the 50mg is one of the better reels made, imo. as for that monkey, he's probably peeking in your backdoor right now.
  7. bcr803 glx steez 103 15# trilene 100% 3/0 gammie ewg superline on the 4", 6/0 gammie ewg superline on the 5".
  8. "buzzards gotta eat, too."
  9. the bb-1n, in its last year of production, listed for right at $91.00 and change at bps and cabela's...have seen pristine new-in-box bb-ing's go for almost $300.00 on that "auction site". in the real world, however, $100 to $125 is about the average based on condition and if you find your audience.
  10. personally, would look hard at the sjr 783 imx or the avid series. the imx is a different animal than the gl3.
  11. terminator. for some reason, never got into the booyah thing.
  12. you need to look at the fish-thumb post. not as quick but, much more rewarding. 8-)
  13. you need to learn both...they are flip sides of the same tip-down coin. especially, if you have the tip-up part down pat.
  14. typical of simpletons not seeing the forest for the trees. if you toss them, it takes much longer to break down in a landfill...which these people despise. if you wash them (and i'm not sure these people do), you use fossil fuels...which these people despise. you gotta remember this comes from the same people that love electric cars and those new pigtail looking lightbulbs. electric cars that, at the end of the day, have to be plugged into an outlet that is connected to a power plant that uses fossil fuels. and, mercury-laden lightbulbs that, at the end of the day, have to be disposed of at a landfill. our kids are gonna love that last one.
  15. if i've read your post correctly, you may simply need a new spool and brakes. give pure fishing a call and give them the model number, as well as the number on the bottom of the reelfoot...if anyone has a spare spool for it, it will be them. the service in the abu section of that conglomerate is second to none.
  16. zoom super chunk jr. two of the last four dd's i've caught have come on a bitsy bug/ jr.
  17. bcr803 glx steez 103 15# trilene fluoro 1/4 oz. gammie ballhead/zoom finesse...although, most anything plastic will do.
  18. ditto on the 7'h. looks to be the one power you're missing.
  19. in "clear, deep, cold water", i know of no better two hardbaits than the pointer dd and the rapala shadrap. they will work anytime of the year but, they are staples here from november til march.
  20. will grant you that third one, sam.
  21. small world...have been to sullivan many years ago and have probably fished those same pits. nice town.
  22. swmbo highly recommends them, as well.
  23. what's snow? keep in mind, i'm setting you up here.
  24. depends. spent two hours at bps atlanta at the freshwater aquarium. spent one hour at the bps destin at the saltwater aquarium. spent 30 minutes at the bps pearl, no aquarium. walked out of each with a t-shirt for the wife and the grandgirlchild. if you want the bps experience, you'll do well...if you're actually looking for something outside of a bps product to look at... ...you're s.o.l.
