  1. jerkbait. staycee 90 in american shad.
  2. in my hands, xf works well for anything plastic. mhf makes for an excellent spinnerbait rod...mf makes an excellent topwater, jerkbait rod. when it comes to fast, the power of the rod has a lot to do with the equation.
  3. if you like the ewg's and are having success with them...personally, would not change.
  4. a lot of it does depend on the hand holding. that said, have tried the kistler's, the carrots and the crucials, as well as the croix le's. bcr glx has them all beat. some rods come close to the glx...none surpass it.
  5. They must not have liked this getting out. They do not offer the discount anymore to this login. they've been kinda swamped lately. 8-) log it in your favorites...he does this once or twice a year.
  6. remember to pull the tag line only when pulling tight. your line will be less likely to burn or kink.
  7. staycee 90. deep rogue is a good one, as well.
  8. some days, they eat a clown rogue...some days, a nishiki pointer. some days, they eat a dt6...some days, a flat mini dr...and so it goes. bottom line...if it works, it's worth it. if it don't, it ain't.
  9. truth be told, most catfish around here are caught on a 5000 series abu strapped on an uglystick. for that, they work extremely well.
  10. personally, didn't like it. didn't hold up to abrasion well, imo.
  11. looks a lot like t-mike's original doo-dads.
  12. I had a Calais 100A, nice reel, sold it to get me my first TDZ. sold the calais for the steez...at the time, couldn't find a tdz.
  13. Those of us who have lived in towns with White Castles (kinda like Krystals, but way better) all have stories of eating those sliders at three a.m. after finishing off a case of Falls City or other cheap beer. used to hit the one in downtown memphis...quite often.
  14. went with the steez. calais 100a would be a bad close second.

depends. somedays, they want the 65...somedays, the 80. when in doubt, i usually reach for the larger bait.
  16. amazing what people can do when working together. my hat's off to them.
  17. lower all rods, get as low in the boat as possible and get to shore as quickly as possible. caught the biggest sack of my life with a lightning storm coming...8 bass, 52 lbs. in 22 minutes. looking back, it was one of the dumbest things i ever did.
  18. kms399's 7' mh/m avid and the loomis mh/m (cbr845) are both excellent all-around cranking sticks...they fish very much the same. that said, you may have to bump it up to a h/m for the dd-22's and fat-free shad type cranks...you can do it with a good mh/m but, imo, these heavier baits load much better on the h/m than the lesser powers. in my hands, a m/m will handle the lighter, shallower baits but, begins to suffer once you get into the flat cb d20, dd-22 type of bait. ymmv.
  19. depends...will usually vary the retrieve til the fish tell me. that said, if near structure, will always bump that structure with the bait and kill it...they will usually nail it when you start it back up again.
