    holy sh**.
  2. pintos and cornbread pasta and beer add that other thing and life is good.
  3. the bcr's are xf...the mbr's are f. some bcr's (4 power, etc.) are listed as f instead of xf but, in my hands, are still faster than the comparable mbr 4 power. the mbr's seem more all-around and the actions seem to fit comfortably in between the more specific bcr series and the cbr series. both are excellent for touchy-feely but, my hands prefer the xf over the f here...the 803 (853) is a good place to start. ymmv.
  4. mh/f for open water casting. mh/xf for pitching to cover.
  5. the thing i liked about kaufman was that the joke was rarely about what was happening on stage. the joke was about the audience watching the stage.
  6. in my college days, it was krystal's...10 for $1.00. didn't eat well but, danged sure fished well. 8-)
  7. mbr782...just one more variation on the m/f theme. fwiw, have also used the longer version of natural's sjr722 (sjr782)...as much a winner as the casting version.
  8. must have gotten the first gen, as well. too much memory and way too many breakoffs.

have to agree. good bait, good price.
  10. longtime member. holler anytime...be glad to help.
  11. either the 78 or the 100 will work for all-around...not sure if i don't prefer the 78. add a flashminnow 95mr, a dd model 78 or 100 and a staysee 90 and you can pretty much cover the water column to 10' or so. to add to the confusion, the slender pointer 97 is hard to beat when the bite is tough...more erratic on the jerk and more movement sitting still than the regular pointers. american shad seems to be the color to beat in my waters. ymmv.
  12. it's probably rougher being a br moderator.
  13. the flat mini dr has been one of my go-to's the past few years...if memory serves, the skeet's come thru timber a tad better than the regular flat mini's. have only fished the slim shad (d9) since this year...my best days with it have come post-spawn on clear-water river systems...there were days it was the only bait they would hit.
  14. sensitivity is a subjective value...what's trash in my hands may be treasure in yours. that said, would personally pick the avid over the gl3...the gl3 is a good rod but, in my hands, the avid is lighter and a tad more responsive. ymmv.
  15. rc .5. lc flat mini dr. lc slsim shad. sometimes, i think lc lost their mind when they discontinued the moonsaults series.
  16. 6/0 ewg gammie superline.
  17. good movie. an idiot starring in it but...good movie.
  18. have fished both for years and, personally, prefer the bcr glx (xf) over the mbr glx (f) for overall plastics...the faster response of the xf just seems to translate into quicker, more solid hooksets for me. that said, i use fluoro as a main line...if you're using braid, i would not hesitate to look at the mbr glx...the bcr glx uses recoil guides (except for the tip)...while this doesn't bother some, the combination of recoils and braid can sound like an ex-mother-in-law's voice. the bcr 853 is an excellent choice for all around jigs and worms but, don't sell the bcr 803 short...it is a pitching machine... for jigs alone, i would bump it up the the 854 (804). if you prefer braid, i would look at the mbr844 glx. and, welcome.
  19. vanish. they named it well.
  20. the le is a solid, well-crafted series of rods. i still prefer the glx for tip-up...otherwise, it's a toss-up between the imx and the le. ymmv.
  21. let's just say my experience with pinnacle was less than stellar. won an xlt in a club t a few years ago...at first, i thought they were penalizing me for a dead fish. after fishing it a few times, i became certain.
  22. reckon where those one first-place votes for oklahoma and usc came from? mcnutt and ole miss may field a good team this year but, imo, they've got a long row to hoe in the sec before cracking the top ten. it can be done but, they'll sure as heck have to bring all their marbles.
  23. glad things worked out for you. hate to say it but, the right thing to do now would be the bigger man and ship the reel back to him. he may deserve never seeing the reel again but, you won't deserve the karma following that reel if you don't. am just saying.
  24. panfish is the only reason i use spinning anymore.
