  1. am not one for bandwagons but, here i'm getting on the one that says loomis "3" power mbr for casting...sjr for spinning. glx, if you can afford it...if not, you ain't backing up much with the imx.
  2. bcr glx + mg reel =
  3. living in the heart of the deep south, i rarely get to see these games...generally, toward the end of the year right after army/navy. that said, and having no allegiance to either side, i thought the montana/app. state and the montana/villanova games were two of the best football games have seen this year...(outside of the trojans getting beat...again...and again.) in snow, in driving rain, even mud and blood...they left it all on the field. good games, imo.

    Right on! solid.
  5. in general, it may have more to do with population density. i was thinking disparity of wealth might be involved also. will agree.

  7. topwater jerkbait crankbait spinnerbait plastic. that's about as close as i can narrow it down.
  8. lc flat mini sr in ghost sunfish. tough to beat around here.
  9. the lines between most 6:1 reels and 7:1 reels are blurred with a lot of marketing. the curado and the fuego (and the citica) are solid reels...either will suit your purpose.
  10. the action may change somewhat but, generally, not enough to matter. that said, upsizing hooks on smaller lures can cause the hooks to foul on the cast more often than not...in that case, it's simpler to put one larger treble on either the belly or the tail...on the tail will aid in casting some smaller lures, like the shadrap #5. another option is putting a single large worm hook on the tail and keeping or ditching the original belly treble...whichever allows foulhooking the least.
  11. ain't but one thing final. 8-)
  12. an old girlfriend had the album with carly simon bouncing on a bed in a negligee. she may look like the dried up back end of a dead alligator now but......man, back in her day.
  13. gammie ewg superline. 3/0 for the small stuff...6/0 for everything else.
  14. yea. that's a good one.
  15. had to order them direct, as well. buy 'em in bulk...the pincers are toast after a fish or two. that said, they're toad candy.
  16. i griped at swmbo when she bought a christmas tree train a few years back. now, it's the first thing i reach for.
  17. outside of the old castaic 200, will agree. fwiw, some of the newer daiwas will re-engage by pushing the thumb bar back up...not as well as those old castaics but, it's there for those few times a switch is actually needed.
  18. curado 200's msrp is around $179.00. curado 300's msrp is around $249.00.
  19. the "jinx" needs to skip a year.
  20. i don't think anyone was saying the non-glx, imx models are of lesser quality...just different materials. with braid, i actually prefer the mossyback over the glx bcr...the mixture of braid + recoils sounds like an ex-wife. fwiw...have yet to pay more than $150 for a cbr or mossyback...at that price, they are a steal.
  21. bcr803 glx for under 1/2 oz. bcr804 mossyback for 1/2 oz. and over...and/or braid.
  22. lake fork pig claws are much bigger. and, like the super chunk, work just as well.
  23. got one thing to say to ole brian. karma sucks.
  24. glx and imx are carbon scrimmed. mossybacks (as well as bronzebacks, cbr's and sbr's) are blends...possibly imx, gl or even glass...how much, loomis ain't telling. they are not carbon scrimmed. as stated, the bcr glx will be noticeably lighter, much more crisp than the bcr mossyback counterpart.
