the wife dragged me into a walls department store a few months after i retired...they had a shelf full of nib quantum spinning reels on sale for $19.99 each...at the time, bps was selling them for $139.00 each...i walked out with every one they had. once bought 5 nib calais 100a's online for $200 apiece. last year, bought 5 nib steez' for $275 apiece. nib lew's bb1-ng for $20.00 at wally. have been others but, those are the ones that stick in my memory.

for some reason, have always liked a heavy action (mbr844, bcr804) for jigs. the bcr803 gets everything else.

friend of mine had two boa constrictors once...gentle creatures. until they got hungry. the problem with keeping constrictors as pets is that, sooner or later, you come home and find out you are no longer "man of the house".

add the cubs into the mix and you can see why folks here like to drink beer and shoot people.

agree with the others. the 783 is much the better all-around.

sold a 3 year old cara 1610 to one of my much younger fishing buddies...he broke the rod on a hookset right above the handle...they replaced the rod for $20.00, even tho he had no receipt and the age of the second-hand rod was obvious. the next week, i broke a brand new cara 5-167 on a hookset...same place as the 1610...all i got back was the broken rod and a very terse letter from mgt. telling me my warranty claim was not valid. i will own no more falcons.

the 803 has the same power as the 783...with a faster tip. imo, the bcr's are under-rated.
