If you go to a dealer u dont need to send anything and you dont even need 50 bucks >I still dont understand where a lot of people on here talk about getting a new rod for 50 bones with certain warrenties .It just means u bought a rod for ::::example for 200 bucks u break it send um 50 bucks u get a new one..reality means u just paid 250 bucks for a rod u paid 200 for YOU DIdNT GET the 200 back break any other $200 rod 20 years from purchase and see what you get back. outside of shimano's rod warranty, most tackle shops are gonna look at you a little funny after a year.

if the rod is a loomis, it does not matter if you are the first or the fifteenth owner...they will replace a broken rod for $50.00...no questions asked. shimano is generally very good, as well...as long as you send in the warranty card, they generally honor the warranty work, with or without receipt. can't speak to the others.

years ago, broke a new rod on a hookset and applied for warranty...the rod was less two weeks old. was sent a terse letter telling me they would replace the new rod for half the cost of the older, new rod...right at $70.00. i don't use falcon rods anymore.
