  2. Hey bass gents check this out I did not get the weight but I did measure the beast. The largest smallmouth todate for me. Caught on a 6'0 ML premier rod & sahara with 6lbs yo zuri using a popar (topwater) at Croton Dam in MI.

  4. I don't think my presentation is off but maybe choice of plastic or when using bullet sinkers. I can see the hook & sinker clearly
  5. I have come accross a lot of large schools of bass in a clear gravel pit. Out of every 15 or so bass I see I might catch one. i watch them investigate my bait but they swim away. I have a stradic 2500 & 3000 spinning reels with 10 lbs gamma line. Is this line to visible to the fish.
  6. I ended up buying the STRADIC 3000FI reel for $130.00. I think i'm set till I get the bug again for a 7' foot M or MH spinning rod for all around fishing. any sugestions
  7. Basslovers & ST Croix AVID owners I have to make a decision really fast. What is the best Spinning Reel for my ST Croix Avid 6'6" MH spinning rod. My options are the SYMETRE 2500, Pflueg-Supreme 8035, or the OKUMA Inspira isx 30. what to do what to do. I will use this set up for mostly plastic & some jigs.
  8. THANK YOU FOR THAT INDEPTH ROD REVIEW. I CAN AGREE WITH YOU ON THE RODS THAT I HAVE USED. I HAVE TWO HMX,ONE HMG, TWO PREMIERS,& ONE AVID. I LOVE MY HMX'S THE MOST BECAUSE I HAVEN'T HAD ALOT OF ON WATER TIME WITH THE AVID OR HMG. I SECOND THE FENWICKS
  9. I was actually going to try 10 lbs flouro on my okuma inspira IS-30 & epixor EF-30 reels which are a lot bigger than the 2500's shimano's.
  10. Hello bass gents I'm also curious about 8 lbs - 10 lbs Seauguar Invisix or gamma egde on a symetre 2500 spinning reel. What do you bass heads think.

  12. I am glad you asked, I got a ST Croix Avid for Xmas, I snuck and bought a 6' 6" M fenwick HMG & a 6' ML fenwick HMX. and fanagled 2 symetre 2500's. Picked up a lot of soft plastics & lure's over the last 2 months. I feel so ashamed.
  13. I have both reels the inspira IS 30 & Metaloid MD 20 I love them both but the Inspira is whole step up in value and it is the newer model the metaloid is discountinued. THe Inspira IA 30 is a very light and the best of the reels mentioned.
  14. I second the okuma spinning reels. They are a great buy. I have the OKUMA INSPIRA ISX 30 with 20# spiderwire. OKUMA EPIXOR EF 30 with 20# spiderwire. OKUMA METALOID MD 20 with 15# spider on spool 1 & Berkley XL 8# on 2nd spool. I will be putting GAMMA 8# line on the other two second spools ef 30 & ISX 30 reels.
  15. Hey bass dudes just wanted to add my beer budget equipment to the list. 6.6" St Croix Avid MH & Okuma Inspira isx-30 spinning 6.6" St Croix Premier MH & Okuma Epixor ef-30 spinning 6.6" Fenwick HMX MF & Shimano Symetre 2500 spinning 6.6" Shimano convergence MF & Mitchell G2000 spinning 7.0" ST Croix Triumph ML & Shimano Okuma Metaloid md-20 spinning 6.6" Berkley Prolite lightning ML & Sahara 1500 spinning. 6.6" bass pro spinning telescoping rod (MH) for traveling What do you guys think (this is just 2 years of accummilation)
  16. What will be the best weights to throw 3/8; 1/2; & 5/8; for jigs, spinners, & C-rigs
  17. Thanks bass dudes, The casting is not a problem at the moment I have 20# spiderwire on both reels & I am debating putting on 8# GAMMA (co) or 10# P line CX line for my second spools. I personally think the reel & rod combo's might start wearing on my arms over a 4 - 6 hour time frame. I like light - heavy cover in clear - gin color lakes.
  18. I need some advice being new to the forum & bass fishing. I purchased two okuma spinning reels last winter. The epixor EF-30 & Inspira ISX-30 are these spinning reels too large for bass fishing & I was giong to try P line florocarbon 10# this spring. Rods are ST CROIX MH 6.6 (Premeir & Avid). What do you guys think
