I have two new premiers 09's one's on a Kistler 7'0 Mag Crankin rod & the other Premier is paired with a Fen HMG 7'0 MH for spinners

Dude I was in the same boat as you are just 4 months ago buying my first bait caster. Just know that the learning process will take some extreme patience on your part & by buying really nice gear you can always sell it to another member if you choose to throw in the towel after one frustrating season. Look into a reel with dual brakes.

Gent's what type of tape is used to cover up your line after you have peeled off about 75 yards for casting distance.

Cabela's had a blue light special on the gamma line last month I cleaned up on the 12lbs & 8lbs spools

Dude I was in the same boat as you two weeks ago. I just wanted a bait caster to learn how too fish next fall. I chose a Daiwa Accurist it has both brakes & it retailed for over $110.00. I got it for $52.00 on ebay brand new. After two weeks of practicing I finally got. Good luck

I use a St croix AVID 6'6" MH spinning with a stradic 2500 reel & 10 lbs green gamma line for heavier applications or 6 lbs Yo Zuri ultra soft. I throw GYMB & *** all sizes

I use yo zuri ultra soft 6 lbs line & gamma 6lbs ,8lbs & 10lbs line and I recommend them both highly.

Well this has been my first official year of bass fishing. I have caught my fair share of LMB & SM bass in 2008. I have accumilated some great bass fishing equipment & some awesome fishing tackle. I am officially hooked on plastic. GYMB & BRENTS. I have caught bass on every trip out thank you god. I caught a 21" small mouth & a 24" LMB. I caught a 7 lber, 6 lber & several 5 lbers. I am hooked thank you all. I can't wait for next season.

My pictures suck but I caught 13 LMB friday & Saturday morning ranging from 1.5 lbs - 6.5 lbs. I caught a 5 llbs Frid & a 23" 6+ pounder. All on my new bait from ***

Gent's do you thread the screw on sinker first & then tie on the hook. Or is the bullet just screwed onto the swim bait.

I just went through the same thing. Since my rod was several years old & no receipt I took it to the nearest sporting good store & they handled everything. Fenwick gave me a brand new HMX. Do not take it to a sporting chain it will make things complicated.

It's my crappie rod so that I can get along with the panfish crowd. I have the exact set up on a hmx also.
