  1. sound travels about a mile in 5 seconds. fewer than 30 seconds between lightning and thunder means you are in danger

  5. I have more round reels than I ever will need. Abu C series and Record are great, SX isn't one of my favorites, but you should disassemble and make sure it isn't packed with grease. Chances are it will be

  8. One of my favorites, come in different weights. Reaction Innovations little dipper work well. I guess any paddle tail would work too. Mister Twister Fat Curly tail Grubs are good too. I use pull/drop method, not too fast. IDK WTH my post is underlined :-)

  14. Using a Dinghy, on a big lake is that a good idea? If she makes sandwiches and brings beer, fine :-)
  15. Put it in a bag of rice----Would that be white, brown, or fried?
  16. Hey, that's really good. Thanks for sharing!
  17. Joe, If you feel the settings are as good as they can be, try this. Leave the lure a little farther from the tip of your rod than you usually do, this will help "load" the rod better. Then smooth is your name, don't try to over-power the cast.
  18. I came up with .6 lb. just under 5/8 pound. They fight like the dickens! I use length X length X length divided by 1200.
  19. From some Finnish hippy that loved this song
  20. Cleaning the bearings makes a world of difference. Great reel, you'll be happy with it.
  21. Yes, I do believe that is what's causing your bird nest. did you remove the bearings and clean them? Think that's where you're feeling a drag--if that's what you mean. And just a single drop of oil (of your choice). I set my spool tension so there is no side to side play. That could be looser than others do, but it works for me. Those reels are super simple, so if you want to try 3 mags, go for. You can always put the 4th one back in. I've never felt the need, but experimenting can be fun too.
  22. Those are awesome reels, love them myself. You say you removed 2 of the 4 mag., you did put them back, right? Another thing to check, make sure you didn't overfill the spool. as far as the 8 lb. on a C series, I wouldn't. The space between the spool and the frame is a bit too much. You can find a schematic with google if you think you assembled wrong. Get things straightened out, and you'll love those reels. Good luck!
