  1. I use any dark color. Don't need to make it solid, I just put "hashes" every 6 or so inches. You are just trying to break up the continues line look. Keep in mind this is just my opinion and it seems to work for me. I use white PP. Somebody'll tell you I'm wrong. Just experiment, nothing is etched in stone. Good luck, enjoy
  2. magic markers are your friend
  3. Tubes have been good to me most anytime. Slow w/short hops.
  4. KVD has a new article I found on Bass Resource through facebook. This might work. www.bassresource.com/fishing/crankbait-speed-kvd.html If this doesn't work, I'm sure somebody better at computers will find it.

    Beautiful!
  6. Wow! I better stop throwing weightless Zoom trick worms and weightless tubes on my Abu, and get one of dem "modern" reels
  7. Not familiar with the Daiwa reel you mentioned, but I have quit a few of the Abu-Garcia C series reels. When clean a lubed properly they are a great reel. Not a fan of the shorter (5'6") rod you have, but it should do til you get some practice in, then you might move up to a longer rod. Read RM link to reel set up, and take his advice on practice. You-Tube has plenty of videos on bait-casters and Abu-Garcia. Good luck and don't get discouraged.
  8. So----How they bitin' ?
  9. I use tubes a lot. Most places I fish have a lot of weeds, so I use Oldham's weedless screw-lock jig heads. They come in different weights and come through the weeds better than anything else I've tried. RW's link is full of good info, don't worry about fishing them too slow. Green Pumpkin has been a good all around starting point. In my area the crayfish will turn orange in the warmer water. Little experimenting will find what's best in your area. Or you could just ask locals or a good baitshop. Def. in for some good fishin'.
  10. I would have brought up the subject of improper hardening of the splines.
  11. If you've been crushing 'em with what you're using, don't change anything. When they stop working, change. Sometimes I rig one rod with something different and switch off just for fun.
  12. Ants love tradition, but not Terro. Time for another tradition, Terro (just be careful w/domestic pets)
  13. Ok, here's the sure cure. Stop buying donuts

I had a recycled parts special (dump pickins) 24" ? frame, 20" wheels/tires. I learned real quick to have the inside pedal, up, in the corners.Baseball glove on the handlebars, Zebco rod tied across the bars as well. Best time of my life

    No more Shemp for you!
  21. Hey FC, I work with animal shelters and foster dogs myself. Just lucky the Aussie landed on your friends doorstep! If she has trouble finding a good home for Miko, there are rescues for every breed dog. Google Australian Shepherd Rescue, and she will find help there. I thank her for doing the right thing.
