  1. I heard of peroxide to clean cork grips, but never reels. Don't think it would do any good, but don't think it would hurt either.
  2. better let someone else fix it. should be an easy fix, surprised the line cut it though.
  3. Good to hear from you, I saw a flying saucer, and haven't seen your posts. Was thinking, was that story true????? Naaa

  6. BassClary is just 15 and I think a tree might look good to him Your father is someone never to disagree with
  7. Ct. fees have come down this year NY is $70? for out of state (ouch). It's only for fun I don't want any hard feelings or disagreements. Good bunch here, even BassClary's OK except for that Sarah Palin worship deal
  8. Came in today's mail Looks great! my biggest have been on a BPS TopKnocker (no longer sold) and a regular Cabela's frog. Best time for me has been very early morning, on what will be a hot summer day. I guess fish know more about predicting weather than weathermen. No surprise there
  9. Guess it would be the honor system? Why not, all in fun.
  10. Used to trap minnows a lot when I was a kid. Had the best luck with an umbrella net (about a 3 ft. sq. net w/an X of metal rods). Best place was where a road crossed over a waterway. With a cord tied to it, lower the net,let it sink til you can still see it, wait a bit, then throw your "bait". The "bait" was any stale bread or crackers that was laying around, soak it in water so it will sink. When you see the minnows swim into the net, pull it up. If the water was moving fast, worms can be bait. Check your local fish and game book to see any legal issues.
  11. Of coarse, where are you going to hoist the Pirate flag?
  12. Cabelas lists SR8&9 in gold in stock @ $8.49
  13. I have Vista, but don't have that problem. But I will never get a 'puter w/Vista again, that's for darn sure!
  14. Great pics! Doesn't get much better than a family that fishes together
  15. White is usually my 1st choice, especially in clear water.
  16. My thoughts exactly!
  17. Yeah that would make it tough to cast w/o a backlash There's a Pinnacle section on the forum, I believe monitored by a factory rep., bet he could help you.
  18. All good advice/ good way to explain it also.
  19. That style may work well for you, but someone who is just beginning might be better off with a smooth style.
  20. Not sure what baitcaster you are using, but you should have instructions as to how to set the spool tension, or read the articles on this site. Basically you tie the lure on you will be using (start with something about 1/2 oz) hold the rod about 10 o'clock. Release the spool, lure should drop to the ground w/o any over-run. I bet you are used to "snapping" your cast like you can with a spincaster, right? That's a no no with a baitcaster. Be smooth, don't try to cast a mile at first. Let the rod do the work. Go to You Tube, should be able to find video's there that might help you visualize better. Practice, practice, practice. Should be able to bring back the 33, wally is usually pretty good about that.
  21. Thanks! What a guy
  22. You know what snakes say? WATCH OUT FOR PEOPLE!!!!!!
  23. That was quick! Looks like it would be worth a try, why do you think it's too compact? You could always add a trailer w/an additional skirt. Bet it would work good in heavy cover.
