  1. I T-rig 'em weightless. Why?Because most everywhere that I fish is FULL of vegetation, and the weightless T-rig makes for a better presentation.
  2. When I did eat them,I filleted and skinned the fillets. They are fine eating.
  3. I use Berkley rods,line,an plastic baits(tubes).
  4. Chigger needs to go back to sweeping up the Bass Tech garage. That boy is FUNNY...or just plain, ole off in the head...LOL!!!

I'm sitting there waiting for Tony to get whacked.Suddenly, the screen goes black.I'm thinking that my Dish Network had gone out(which it does from time to time)...And it looks just like the blackout at the end of last night's episode when it happens.I told my wife moments later that half the homes in America had someone sceaming,S%#&T.at the same time.At least I was.I was disappointed with the ending, also.
  6. Todd, happens to the best of 'em.Now go on and buy that new reel that you've been dreaming about.
  7. Not really a weird bait,but...I was bream(bluegill) fishing with a flyrod and a small popping bug.I was really tearing the bream up.Suddenly,KA-PLOOSH,a 2 pound bass busted my little popping bug attached to a 4 lb test leader. It was a hail of a fight,no bulling him in on that rig.I managed to land the bass and was laughing like a little kid the whole time.
  8. Keep using the deep diving crankbait in a shad pattern.Throw a Carolina rig at 'em.Colors may vary ,but I'm catching mine on green pumpkin, watermelonseed, black w/ blue tail, tequila sunrise, red shad, purple shad, and pumpkinseed w/chartreuse tail.Lizards, finese worms, senkos, and lately a 7 1/2" Culprit worm have caught 'em for me.I also like the dropshot rig in the same colors(finese worm).I've even caught a few pitching tubes to cover in shady areas and docks.I'm not tearing them up,but I catch enough to make it interesting.
  9. Things have slowed WAY down for me,too.I'm fishing REALLY early, early in the morning, but even then the fishing is way off.I'm going to start night fishing pretty soon...like this weekend.
  10. My "secret" is a Hummingbird depth/fish finder.I'm really a shallow water angler, but the challenge of deep water fishing keeps things interesting.I'd be lost out there without it.
  11. I use a white skirt with tandem willowleaf blades of gold over silver.

  13. That is the manager of the Mississippi Braves(Atlanta's double AA team). They're about an hour north of where I live.LBH,you may be right.Think I'm gonna have to catch a game or two.
  14. There are many things that I like having, that make bassin' a more enjoyable experience, but one item I must have to fish and not go crazy is a good, strong foot-controlled trolling motor.
  15. I agree with Redneck. It's hard(for me anyway) to beat a spinnerbait with a white skirt.I like it with tandem willowleaf blades of gold and silver.
  16. I use Trilene XL in 10 lb test.It has stretch to prevent hooks tearing out,and I like the 10 lb test to maximize depth.I also will use Big Game in 10 lb test if I'm going to be raking the c-bait through heavy wood cover.
  17. I use a 6'6 LR in MH with topwaters and have no complaints.I'm no expert on the science of different rods for different baits.I just go by what feels good and performs well.
  18. The $49 sounds alright to me.I love the Revo style(and Abu Garcias in general),but the price is,well...
  19. I was obsessed with golf for 20+ years. It IS fun.Got pretty good at it,but had to play 4-5 times a week to keep that swing right. It got to be too much.I still have my Calloway irons(just in case).Happy to say I limit myself to hitting the pitching wedge in the back yard.If you're only 5-6 shots over par for 18 holes and you just started...You're gonna get GOOD!
  20. It's no big deal, but I use a small section of an old plastic worm to keep the trailer hook on a spinnerbait or buzzbait.Keeps the hook exactly where you want it,and if it tears loose just bite off another 1/4" section.
  21. I'm sure it works for many anglers, but I prefer a spinnerbait all day long.
  22. Scumfrog and Horny Toad
  23. There are many ways to learn how to catch bass.Articles, internet, forums,on the water, fishing with knowledgible people, and others. It can be a science as you mentioned, but as Avid said it is recreation.Keep it fun.If not it can become like a job.Don't forget that there are no dumb questions. We've all been there.I've been bass fishing for 34 years and still ask questions.Welcome to the sport and have fun.
  24. Man,that sucks.Sorry to hear about it.They can take many things but don't mess with a man's fishing gear.Theives really tick me off!
