  1. It really saddens me to hear this. What a great bassing writer and ambassador for bass fishing! I've enjoyed his articles for a long time.My prayers are with his family and loved ones. He'll surely be missed.
  2. I'd have to go with the Peacock bass.
  3. The only snake that I respect is the king snake, but I don't kill any nonpoisonous snakes and don't go out of my way to kill a poisonous one.I think I've killed one in the last 15 years, and it was an Eastern diamondback on my front steps.
  4. It was $2.99 two weeks ago. It's worked its way down to $2.79 now.
  5. I keep mine in the garage. That Southern heat can really mess up a boat given time.
  6. Favorite=Floating Minnow Most productive=Soft Plastics(namely Zoom lizards,Culprit worms,Manns finese worms,and Strike King Tubes).
  7. A 4" Senko and a 6" Mann's Dragin worm(finese worm) are my favorites.I like 'em in shades of watermelon and green pumpkin.
  8. Floating Minnows such as Rapalas and Rogues,Tiny Torpedo,Devil's Horse, and a Buzzbait are the topwaters that I catch bass on.
  9. Crankbaits-Norman,Rapala,Bandit,and Rebel. All will catch plenty of bass. Floating Minnows-Rapala,Rattlinrogue,and Rebel are my favorites. Lipless Crankbaits-Rattletrap,Cordell Spot
  10. Glad to hear Gander Mountain offers good brand names as well as copies. They are opening a store here in my home town in the old K-Mart building(which is gigantic!).
  11. I use both of the baits you mentioned, and yes they do work. They're both great summertime baits.I fish them mainly along deep channels looking for cover.I also like to fish a point(especially a windy point).I even catch bass along the dam where lots of wood cover has been dropped and the depth ranges from 8 feet to 18 feet.A deep diving shad Rap in Silver W/black back is excellent.
  12. 1.Baitmate live fish attractant(Anise) 2.Yum Garlic 3.Bang Garic
  13. Most of the lakes that I fish are pretty clear.I have a lot of success with a 4" watermelon candy tube. Also do well with green pumpkin.
  14. Congrats to my favorite pro angler,KVD!!! I hope he wins AOY,and another Classic win wouldn't be bad either!
  15. A white Horny Toad is my choice.
  16. I fish early, late, and at night in this situation. But if I were stuck in this,I'd probably get on my fish finder in deeper water looking for likely structure with cover on it.I'd then drop shot the hail out of 'em.
  17. Years ago I got by with basically a Rapala silver original floater and T-rigged plastic worms.Caught lots of bass that way.Probably as much as I catch now.I've become a more versatle angler.Partly learning from others and to be honest partly from reading posts on this forum.AS an example,I learned much of what I know about drop shotting from reading you guys posts about the subject. It is a go to technique for me now when things aren't going so well.
  18. I have a couple of things I do pretty well.I'm a good topwater angler.I also consider myself better than average throwing a spinnerbait.I've always been able to catch my share with plastic worms(T-rig,C-rig).I can play a bass in general and big bass specifically well.I keep their heads down from breaking the surface and throwing the bait. With big bass,I've always just let them swim themselves to the point of exaustion.I'll take up line when needed, but usually just hang on with a well adjusted drag and let them tire out.

Uncle Josh #11 Pork Frog for pitchin'/flippin'/casting.I don't swim a jig enough to have a favorite.
  20. Hey man I know where you are coming from.I'm having to move into a smaller house that my parents left me because of financial reasons. My whole family's been working on it for six weeks. It was in terrible condition.I've tried to look at the bright side. This has really drawn my family close together and made me realize how much I need the Lord.Hang in there .Tough times don't last, but tough people do.
  21. I do use glass beads on my C-rig.It's my most productive summertime setup.
  22. I use a transom mount. It's easy to install and works well.
  23. Crappie or white perch as they're known in these parts are probably the best tasting freshwater fish swimming.
  24. Night is right for throwing topwaters.
  25. Razyr,I had that happen a few years ago with a full grown cat.She got ahold of a Rogue floater and had treble hooks through the gum, lip, and front paw.It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.Like you said, when I got through the cat was no worse for wear.
