Ha I've got you all beat at $3.29 to 3.39 right by me in Chicago. I'm sure if I drive just 5 minutes so I'm out of the city I know it will be $3.19 but probably lower. Not sure which one exactly the 520c is but I know it came form the 330/332 series. I really like my 332c. The only problem I ever experienced was my unit was bad when I got it but they took care of me. It should be a very nice unit. The menus are easy to navigate and it's an easy screen to see. If possible I'd make sure what ever 500 series you buy has the maps built into it unless you already have a card. I might be mistaken but I thought I was told that one of them comes with more detailed maps and that is nice to have. This is sometimes I've been on lakes that aren't even on the gps.

That'd be cooler than the Iphone.

Just to go along with this putting too much on could get your mechanic is some trouble. I think you might get into some insurance issues if there is ever a claim. Can't the Coast Guard and I'd assume most law agencies write you a ticket? Back to the question. Most of what I've read is that you should always try to be at the max not for the speed but it puts less stress/starin on the engine. I don't know if it is true but that's the most common feeling on the topic.
