  1. I've got a 05' Trition with the same engine. Here's what works for after learning from others with the same engine. Squeeze the primer bulb until it is kinda hard. Basically bake sure you have fuel moving to the engine. Use the fast idle/ throtle advance thing. What ever it is called. Once you put the key in push it in to use the choke. Then just turn the key while you have it pushed in. Starts mine up just fine. If it dies out right after it start I'll give it a little gas with the hot foot. Actually use that fast throtle/advance thing really helped out a buddy of mine with a 98 XR6.
  2. They may not lose as much as some people think. If you figure a car got 20mpg and gas is around 3.80 you only save 1480 over the 3 years if you actually buy gas for 12000mi per year. I don't know if this is true or not but they said because of this they wouldn't offer other incentives. So if that is true they are probably better off than if they were to offer you something like 5000 cash back. Just a thought. Hey I wonder if you don't exceed the size of your cars tank if you could fill up the boat on that deal too.
  3. Nice picture Glenn plus a great story.
  4. Might be more than you wanna spend and it isn't a Skeeter but what about the XD series by Triton. It was designed for big water like a deep v but has the inside of a bass boat. Definitely check out D and R Sports. Great guys over there. We had a few minor issues when we first got our boat and Randy himself was actually working on it. Plus the service department is great. Only thing to watch for at leaders is their prices. Alot of their stuff is higher than D and R. Never talked boats with them but they have a great staff for stuff like ATV's, snowmobiles, and PWC's. And although I live in Chicago I do spend alot of time in MI and I definitely prefer D and R to the Illinois Triton dealer. I feel they really stand behind their stuff there.
  5. I won a gift card from them too. It was from the first tournament and I probably got it 3 weeks ago. No communication up until it came either.
  6. Here's a good link from Mercury about Ethanol in outboards. Kinda adds more to what way2slow said. http://northamerica.mercurymarine.com/serviceandwarranty/outboardfaqs/ethanol.php
  7. I was driving around in Allegan and Van Buren county today and noticed alot of people that seemed to be out "crappie" Alot of people seem to have been out lately.
  8. Pretty cool videos.
  9. You could try contacting this guy http://www.chem.uic.edu/marek/weirdsci/events/events.htm He was the one that used to come into my class.
  10. fooman one of the teachers that used to be on those shows was at my university. So every now and then my teacher would bring him in for a demonstration. You can try searching for stuff like at home science experiments. I've seen stuff like make your own slime kits and stuff like that before.
  11. Percussion. I don't play mcuh now but for 8 years I played in school learning all the marching instruments, concert instruments and drum set. About the only percussion stuff I can't really play are the keyboard instruments like the vibes or xylophone. In highschool I played in the Gator Bowl half time show and the Tournament of Roses Parade (first band from Chicago). That was one long parade. We also got to play outside Lincoln Center with just a light snow.
  12. My dad's aunt used to used ear candles. I remember her saying that they stopped wax from building up. But I personally have no idea.
  13. Yeah I saw that video too. They also have one that will drop stuff to attract carp and stuff. I don't really know anything about carp fishing but I saw that the other day. I guess kinda like chumming.
  14. Thanks for the history lesson Catt. I never knew that Nitro and Stratos had that connection. I knew about Javelin and Stratos but not Nitro.
  15. That's awesome. It's always cool when you get to see these guys on the road.
  16. I like that. Looks really good.
  17. Alot of times in 2 day tournaments they will close off the areas that serves as the release areas. Generally somewhere near the launch. I've seen a few tournaments in Chicago on the rivers connecting to Lake Michigan that do it so guys don't feel like they need to fish the lake. More of a mental thing with that one, but generally the lake smallies seem to be bigger than the river largies.
  18. I have a friend that does them when they are in Oklahoma. He has a great time everytime he is at one. He's had some really great pictures in the past too. He's gotten to meet alot of the pros. I know he'd recommend it.
  19. Awesome catch. The fish really look healthy.
  20. That's too bad, fishing on your birthday is pretty cool. But ......................
  21. I know in Illinois and Michigan you need a permit to be legal. You can also get a permit in Illinois to decrease the size limit from 14" to 12." As far as guide lines relating to size or number of boats and money I have no idea. However, in Michigan when lake associations start to get mad about the tournaments. All you do is call it a "contest" and you are in the clear. How this would hold up against the DNR I'm not sure but it works with the home owners.
  22. You really should be nicer to these guys, you don't even know them. If you ever read any of their post about boats you'd realize that they actually know what they are talking about. Alot of what I've learned and am learning has come from stuff these guys have put up. Obviously, Catt had sarcasm in his post. Also, like was mentioned money wasn't the only factor in the B.A.S.S./Ranger split. There was also ESPN and the boat racing.
  23. Well one way or the other Flair is one of the best bleeders I've ever watched. In most of his matches you are guarnteed to see blood.
  24. That's all my dad's cousin uses. All antique Farmalls on the farm. He's got 2 that he uses for pullin. One's about a 54' Super W6 and the other is a much older F14 or 12? That one they put an V6 in.
  25. It has been windy here lately. Yesterday it was supposed to be in the 50's and now today it is snowing again.
