  1. Those Okuma look really nice and so do those Lightning Shocks. Should be interesting when they are finally in stores.
  2. First congratulations especially since this is your first bass boat. Seems everyone missed that part. Good luck with the new boat.
  3. Sounds like you've been having a pretty good summer. I know I've seen the weights drop this year at the tournaments up there. We've only seen one bag over or even at 20lbs this summer and and generally it's been takign between 11-15lbs to win. Last year until around now we were seeing atleast one 17-23lbs bag a week.
  4. Looks interesting. Thanks for the heads up Glenn.
  5. That's too bad to hear. I hope both you and his family will be ok through this.
  6. Usually some type of black and blue jig or tube when pitching with various trailers. Probably a Strike King or one of the new jigs released by the original owner of Shuberts Lures (Rite Bite). I'll often use my flipping jig for skipping or some type of worm or senko. Really depends how I'm fishing that day. If I'm passing the docks inbetween pad fields I'll just keep pitching the jig or if I've been working the worm/senko that'll get skipped some.
  7. That's pretty funny.
  8. Looks really nice. The mermaid is a nice touch.
  9. Cool. Sounds like you got what you wanted. Have fun with the new engine.
  10. I didn't have one on my Lowe and have one on my Triton. I definitey prefer haveing the recess. Last summer I fished out of a boat without one and it now felt akward. Definitely easier to spend the day standing when your ankle/foot is flat instead of raised up. I think it's better when the water gets rough. Only downside I see is if you lose your balance and get your foot caught in the recess. Will make you almost go over board.
  11. Hasn't she ever heard of D-Con or a cat?
  12. Congratulations on the nice new boat. I'm definitely a fan of the yellow and black ones too.
  13. That's pretty cool to check out. The picture seemed pretty recent just from looking at my neighbors house.
  14. If you still want to stick with the Crankin Stick follow what RW said and look at the 7' MH. I have 2 of them and can say they are nice rods especially if you catch on of the sales BPS does on them. Probably the closest fishing store to me sells BPS stuff.
  15. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Gives me a good idea for a graduation present for myself from pharmacy school.
  16. I think it will be interesting to see if in Chicago we can finally legally own a hand gun. All the surrounding cites and suburbs you can but a regular citizen has been prevented since I believe the 70's. 15 minutes after the ruling the NRA already had a lawsuit filed agaisnt the city ban on hand guns. Here the article http://cbs2chicago.com/local/supreme.court.handguns.2.757471.html
  17. The problem alot of guys run into is actually selling space on the wrap. Alot of the lesser known or guys that fish stuff like the Opens have a hard time getting someone to buy the space. Just look at any of the news stories that were on Bassmaster when they first went to the wraps.
  18. That definitely doesn't sound right. Is there anyway to file a protest? I know almost any tournament I've fished some where in the rules hthere is a section about protests. Might be worth a look. Good luck with your decision.
  19. The thought is that with the lower gear ratio you can gain more power or torque as most people will tell you. Helps you move the baits with more resistance more easily. Really it depends on what you are going with this combo. If you are throwing big deep divers yeah you might get a little tired. However, if you are throwing smaller shallow or any type of shallow diver it shouldn't be a problem. The less resistance you have the easier it will be. That said I usually use my 7:1 Energy for almost anything. About the only this I won't throw on it are the large deep divers because I have the 5:1 or what ever it is actually.
  20. Looks like an awesome place. Congratulations.
  21. It'd be interesting to switch out garlic for the smells I get from the Nabisco cookie factory or the Tootsie Roll factory. Depending on the wind and I can get either 1 of the 2 where I'm at in Chicago.
  22. Sounds like a good time. I've often thought about trying to pick up a kayak.
  23. My favorite and probably most disturbing was happened when my dad and I were coming in from fishing. There was this entire family swimming at the launch because that is allowed. The lake is only 69 acres and is gravel with a small cement slab. As we see this family they don't want to move at first even though I am idling in with my bass boat. Finally the move, no big deal. But the best was yet to come. Just as my dad is about to jump off to get the truck we see the dad coming running with his shampoo. He procedes to wash his hair in the lake. We got out of there before we could find out but apparently it must have been family bath day.

Right now nothing too exciting just answering the phones and what not at my church. Also have a discounted lawn care and snow removal service for senior citizens. But 4 years from now when I graduate I'll be getting my PharmD and will be a pharmacist.
  25. Well if you have any learning problems just do a search around here. There have been posts in the past from people trying to learn. You'll get the hang of it soon enough. There are probably videos out on places like youtube too. Don't worry about all the people disliking Quantum here lately and saying bad things about the Energy. 90% of those people haven't used a Quantum in many years let alone the Energy. I know this because about a year ago I decided to ask all the members why they seem to dislike Quantum.
