  1. 3.5" tubes an EWG Gamakatsu 2/0 or 3/0 and if it is a larger 4"+ flipping tube I'll move up to a 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu. Basically I use the largest hook the will fit the tube. When rigged the hook comes out right before the skirt. bassdocktor
  2. FatBoy you story sounds oddly familiar. Did you happen to sell the movie rights?
  3. Thats a good one
  4. I'm with Ed on this one.
  5. I had somewhat of a similar problem. Mine would randomly turn on. If yours got wet make sure it dries out. That got rid of my problem. We eventually found out that we just had a bad unit after a few other problems kept coming up. bassdocktor
  6. Anytime this comes up I have the same comment and I'm sure a few others can agree. They are great for skipping. I'm not sure if it is the 3x material and the way they float or what but they are great. You can skip a zero alot farther than other senkos and you don't have to worry about it ripping off. Because of this it is a great bait to learn to skip or just practice with if your skipping isn't that great. Other than that I never spent much time with them. bassdocktor
  7. Great picture, thanks for the link.
  8. Blade, Saying they are heavy pieces of junk really doesn't explain why Quantums aren't as popular as people giving past bad experiences. As far as them being heavy check the specs. Except for the 100 series the Curados which are popular here are actually.2oz heaver than the Energy series. Actually if you want to look at the Citica again the Quantum is lighter. I'm not defending Quantum because I like the Shimanos I have and have had but I'm just looking to see why they aren't as popular. bassdocktor
  9. I went with the 130-200 because the reels I have been buying would fall here. However, my spinning reels are less. Nothing I have bought has been over 200. With that said if there was something I like for less that 130 I would not hesitate at all but right now I just can't see going over 200 for one reel.

    Great jokes
  11. The Triton seat is comfortable and it looks good with the boat I just saw it and wondered.
  12. Along the same topic. When the Classic was in Chicago it was a problem faced by the anglers. Several of the pros were shot at with automatic weapons as they went down the river. Not sure how many people remeber that so I thought I'd post it up. Also, unless you are a police officer no one in Chicago should be carrying since you aren't allowed to own handgun in Chicago. This is because all guns must be registered and they stoped registering handguns quite some time ago. bassdocktor
  13. Looks great. It may not be a Triton, but isn't that a Triton seat? Looks like the little logo they put on them. bassdocktor
  14. I got the same mailing and was wondering about them. It would be intersting to see if anyone has and any experience with them.
  15. Those are some awesome fish. Looks like I may have to try going out at night.
  16. Congrats and good luck next year.
  17. Thanks ReelMech I never thought about the blank and the stress caused by the holder. But yes switz that can weaken your line. It can create a rough spot. bassdocktor
  18. The closest I get to that is knowing a few guys that use drop shot hooks for wacky rigging.
  19. I use either a 1/0 or 2/0 depending on how thick the senko is or how big it is. Alot of times I just use the same offset hook that I would if it were a texas rig. Actually alot of the guys I fish with do too. Gives you more versatility because you can always switch from wacky to t-rig. bassdocktor
  20. Yes those reels are new but the Energies and Tour series are relatiely new too. Don't get me wrong most of my reels are still the old curados but lately, I've picked up alot of Diawas and Shimanos that just haven't felt good. I've tried adjusting them and they haven't been just display models, some have been right out of the boxes. Also, I may be wrong but didn't the new curados increase in weight? I'm not trying to see which is better because there are too many strong opinions to start that arguement and it has kinda been done here multiple times. Plus some of it is just preference. I just wanted to see why people aren't really using Quantum. Thanks to some of the guys here I'm starting to see it is based on Quantums past. bassdocktor
  21. Actually after using them side by side with my old curados I like the new energies better. Personally don't even notice the weight difference.
  22. Hey I just found it. ospreyprods@earthlink.net It's kinda weird they have these problems when on their website they say "We are committed to providing you with exceptional service." So in one of the next emails that I highly suggest you send you might want to mention that quote since it is on the Feedback Section of their website. Again good luck and let me know if I can be of any more help. bassdocktor
  23. Elio, I can't find the post but I put up a warning about them in the past. I also ordered the same thing from them and it took several months to receive. They claimed there was a death in the family but that is no excuse for the product to come 2.5 months after it should have. I'd recommend keeping up with emails and try calling them. I finally received mine after constant emails for about 2 weeks. I'll take a look over the next day or so and see if I can find the email I used to contact them. If I find it I'll post it up here. Good luck bassdocktor
