  1. I usually throw them with a light bullet weight texas rigged. Here are a few link to some other trick worm posts T rig http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1179968552/9#9 birght colors http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1179856750/0 post spawn http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1179652841/1#1 bassdocktor
  2. You definitely need to add some tubes and straight tail worms (trick worm) to your collection along with some type of fluke.
  3. Alot of times I'll just use the same hook for wacky and texas depending on bait size because that way I can switch back and forth if I want. Usually to do this I use a 2/0 or 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG. bassdocktor
  4. We recently had a problem with them. We rolled the lawn and put down a bug killer that also targeted grubs. It seems to have been working. We don't regularly live on the property that had the problem so we didn't try any of the traps. bassdocktor
  5. Senile1 hit on an important topic of being careful. This is especially true if you are going to work out at home. When doing squats it is best to do them at a gym where you can get someone to spot you. Make sure you do them in the squat rack too, it provides you with some extra safety and you can do them even without a spot once you set the side rails. Don't use a smith machine. It look like a big cage like the squat rack except somewhere it will have rails that go up an down and only allow for one motion. This can lead to RMI's (repetitive motion injuries) and your stablaizer muscles not to develope and lead to possible injuries. While they will require more effort do squats if you are able to instead of leg extensions. Leg extensions only work one muscle (rectus femoris) and put more strain on the knee (quadricpes tendon) than squating which will actually work almost all of the muscles of the thigh (the quads). Nutriton is key. If you ever want to be really lean and go for the 6 pack abs again it will only happen because of your diet. The carb drinks are a great idea before working out as previously said they give your body more energy to work with. Good Luck, bassdocktor

Actually, the Bam Boo Stick came out a few years ago. I've used it a few times with some success. That thing is really fat. bassdocktor
  7. For me it is the cover that I am fishing. The reduced/zero stretch is an advantage. It allows you to cut through the weeds you are fishing. IF you have ever pulled braided line tight you know it can cut through something. Lets face it most people throw frogs around some type of vegitation. Having the added strength of braid allows you to horse the fish out if need be. Plus alot of times people will make very long casts and the low stretch allows you to be able to set the hook more easily. bassdocktor
  8. It's a great rod. I recently started using it for toads and have used it for topwaters aswell. I highly recommend it. I'm pretty sure I asked a question about it in the past and if I can find the thread I'll post a link so you can see what others said about the rod. bassdocktor
  9. I read some of the greatest stuff on here.
  10. timmyswetarded brought up a few good points about my previous supplement post. The different forms of creatine haven't been in use as long and therefore aren't as popular, one example is creatine ethyl ester malate. Again some people really see no benefit from it like creatine monohydrate. He right using the different variations you do cramp less. However, they still recommend increasing your water intake which helps to circulate everything in your body. Again drinking mroe water should eliminate any cramping problems. timmy stated that he has seen an increase in the size of his blood vessels. This was something I forgot to mention before. The nitric oxide products are also designed to increase you vasulature so he is an example of NO actually working. Yeah avoiding diet supplements while trying to gain weigth is a very good idea. However, if you still feel the need to take one try HOT-ROX by Biotest. It was actually designed to maintain the highest level of muscle while getting rid of fat. Most fat burners will cause you to loose muscle too. Good luck and as I said timmyswetarded brought up a few things that were worth giving a little more info on. bassdocktor
  11. I'm glad to see this up here because I always wondered what most people did with the fish after they were shot.
  12. Wow thats terrible that that happened.
  13. I was fishing 2 weeks ago and an definitely support what the guys have said. It doesn't matter. I haven't fished the carolina rig that much before but my partern had. We got bit on assorted lizards, creatures, ikas, french fries, and beavers. I only had one fish come on a regular worm. bassdocktor
  14. In case anyone was looking for the thread http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1178851155
  15. Lately I've been hearing that alot of people are beginning to use the Tiger Tube by Lindy. I'm not sure what type of hook to use but if you check out the Tiger Tube they use a 6/0 in both the 6 and 8 inch with a treble hook as trailer. 3/0 to the 8 and 2/0 for the 6. If you go to BPS's website they sell them and you can see a picture of how they come rigged. bassdocktor
  16. I'd have to go with what people said and try different combinations. When I look down in the water I see the sunfish/bluegill or what ever they are and they have like a bright colored tale that doesn't match.
  17. I haven't been able to try it on the hollow body frogs but the 6'9" AllStar spinnerbait rod worked very well. Was able to pull them out nicely when I was using horny toad type baits. There are several members on here that would agree the rod is versatile aswell. bassdocktor
  18. Thats great to hear and congratulations.
  19. I posted a question about 2 years ago along the same lines except I was looking for different brands. There might still be some useful info in here for you. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1115941861/0 bassdocktor
  20. I've fished them weightless quite a few times and have had alot of blow ups. I think the reason I didn't land many fish was I pulled too early on them.

    Wow, that really looks great.
  22. Something I feel is important to add here based on alot of bad information people have gotten. You don't need to stay away from all supplements. I say this having sat through 2 semesteres of advanced anatomy and physiology and having spent the last 3-4 years researching and taking a few things. Creatine- is ok when you start looking at studies. For a little while now they have even been using it to treat parkinsons. Plus it you do receive it in meat anyway. Just don't take more that 5grams a day and make sure you drink alot of water. Thats the biggest reason people experience negative side affects. Creatine is naturally used by the body. Protein shakes- Something very worth your money since as you all probably know muscles are made of proteins. They are a great way to get additional protein if you are someone who just doesn't eat enough. IF you are going to buy one buy Whey protein and not soy protein unless you have a specific reason/condition that requires you to need soy over whey. Soy protein has been shown to contain estrogen or estrogen promoting compounds which will hinder your progress. Vitamins- A good multivitamin helps keep your body balanced especially if your diet isn't the greatest and even if it is. Amino Acids- Unless you are really going at it hardcore possibly a watse a of money. However if you are serious they have been shwon in many studies and trial to increase both strength and lean muscle mass. There haven't been and side effects shown with these either. Again something naturally occuring in the body and used to build proteins whichs translate into muscle. Nitric Oxide- While many believe that this will help you get very big and quick alot of studies have shown it to be a waste of money. Again it does naturally occur in trhe body and is used to dialate your blood vessels. People I have talked to have said it will enlarge your muscles or give you a "pump." I'm not really sure abotu side affects. Diet supplements- Something to becareful with because like Logger said there was the ephedra problem awhile back. Alot of them contain large amounts of stimulents and will elevate your heart rate quite abit and obviously can lead to problems. Thats not to say that there aren't reputable diet supplements. Tribulus- This one is an herb that is shown to boost testosterone levels. No it isn't a steroid and is very legal. However, it doesn't work for everyone. It isn't going to raise your levels by an extreme amount but it can give you a helpful muscle building boost. I don't recall the actual side affects but I didn't come across anything that was not corrected by just stopping taking it. I've talked to people and taken it and no one experienced any problems. These are just a few of the more popular supplements that are currently available. Again I'm not an expert but what I said came from my own research, experience, and classes take with a teachers that had an MD and PHD. Like I said I feel it is important to correct the misinformation that is out there. bassdocktor
  23. Well guys I think I got my answer as far as why people stay away from Quantum. It seems to come down to past experiences, stigmas (Zebco), and some brand loyalty. It will be interesting to see if anymore opinions or ideas get added. Thanks guys, bassdocktor
  24. Although it's not much help if you have or can get ahold of old Bassmaster Magazines I know they did an article on using clear baits. I'm pretty sure it was about 2 or 3 years ago.
