  1. Welcome from East Alabama! This should be an easy place to learn lots of stuff!
  2. Attaboy-can't argue with that pretty thing.
  3. Where did he put it? It'll be gone and he'll bring it back!
  4. Champion 198cx is the sweetest boat I've ever been in. Fast, fishes 3 folks very comfortably.
  5. How bout hang around and get a little more involved before calling anyone out. x2 on the PM button
  6. Boyd Duckett gained lots of respect points from me for this move!!!! Its very refreshing to see someone only want to endorse something that they truly believe in!
  7. Its crazy how that works......and sure thats not exactly true for everyone, but dang it is for a lot of folks I know...bust your butt to get to that job you think is ideal, only to get their and find out how bad it sucks, or how the extra couple of bucks just really isn't worth it.
  8. I think anyone is crazy to vote against Florida this year..... The SEC is going to be outrageously tough again this year. Toughest conference in the land. Quit complaining about out of conference schedules! When you play guys as tough as this-week in and week out-you need a break! War Eagle!
  9. x2 on the sissy little girl thing
  10. I have never used weight for these, but I agree with the other guys....very little weight necessary. They have such a pretty action weightless, and you don't want to interfere with that too much. Just be patient, you'll get it.

Congratulations man! Keep putting in those hours and they'll keep getting bigger!
  12. I like to keep all of my plastics in the bags they come in, so I have a few tupperware type containers that I label the top of. One for worms, one for creatures, one for trailers, etc....I carry them in a regular tackle bag.
  13. You'll probably get the full range of answers......here's mine Rattleback jigs are my favorite. If I'm targeting cover in more shallow water, I'll pitch it and work it really, really slow. Up and down, very subtle. My favorite trailers are ultravibe speed craws in whatever color matches the jig. Across a point, I cast as far as I can, pull slowly by turning my hips, reel the slack, let it sit for a few seconds, then repeat. I am interested to see what other people do as well.
  14. We almost need an Iaconelli section right next to the senko section... I think he's awesome. His over the top attitude is just part of who he is. Its refreshing.
  15. Just another reason why I don't swim in lakes.
  16. I usually don't visit this section of the forum much but I'm glad I read this...I needed a good laugh.
  17. Goodness Gracious-I usually lose count after 5! Congratulations on the big day
  18. I can absolutely chalk it up to being lazy I guess. Half the time I lip em, half the time I swing em and catch the line as Catt said. But also, 99% of the time, they're 12 inchers. Good common sense was absent at that juncture and the results are a headache and a 65 mile trip to BPS to hope they exchange my 3 month old broken rod. Thanks guys.
  19. Last night, I broke a rod trying to swing a fish into the boat. She wasn't even that dang big, right at 4 pounds, but the rod just snapped smooth in half. This was a mid level rod that I really loved-KVD signature series worm rod, about 80 bucks. I've got a couple of theories... 1. I need to buy better rods? 2. I don't need to flip fish that size into the boat, just net em. Anyone else had this problem? What would you suggest?
  20. Absolutely agree. One of our lakes is totally loaded with 12 inchers. You can literally catch them all day long. From a "sportfishing" mentality, a lot of these need to be kept to help the larger population. I don't enjoy seeing people keep big fish, but I don't have the right to get sideways about it if he does it legally. Maybe he needs to feed his family....there are 2 sides to every story.
  21. I bought a pack of 4 of the hollow bodied swimbaits for less than 5 bucks. I think the action is pretty good. The first couple, I used this trick I read somewhere about trimming the underside of the tail to give it a more realistic action, but then I found out that you don't really need to. Good bait, good deal I think.
  22. The only one that I have fished is Martin. I would say, don't waste your time going there, especially this time of year. Millions of wakeboarders, jet skis, and general pleasure boaters. If I had the opportunity to go to Guntersville, I wouldn't pass it up. That is considered by many to be a world class fishery. Wedowee is deeeeeeeeeeeeeep. If you've got confidence in your deep fishing skills, you'll have a good time. Good luck, have a good vacation.
  23. a big dark colored jig with about a thousand rattles
  24. You gotta find something else. Going to work everyday and hating it sucks. Can you do a good job while hating it??? sure, but you can't do your best....start looking (not on company time, mind you) for something that lights the fire inside you. Also...(and this is not a 100% original thought, heard it on Colin Cowherd the other day) don't think of yourself as just "lucky to have a job." You've earned the job you have, regardless of the situation. There are plenty of people who have lost their jobs because of stuff beyond their control, but that doesn't mean someone can call you out for not liking your job.
  25. Ok....I've only used one for a short period of time for flipping and it was really nice, but.....Here's my issue... The brakes are the internal type that you have to remove the sideplate to adjust.....seems like a hassle to me. Do you ever have to adjust them?
