I chunked around a new curado this past weekend and I have to say, it was amazing. However, I really don't like internal brake adjustments. I like the convenience of just turning the switch to add or remove some brake. Flipping and pitching-no brake. For casting that same bait, I'll add a little.

I have become a big fan of strike king's premiers spinnerbaits (about 6 bucks...). They come with a trailer hook and a portion of the skirt is a bit longer so you don't need a trailer. As far as jigs, I have fallen in love with the original rattlebacks. Good looking colors and the rattles are positioned so that you can get a trailer on without totally screwing it up.

I'm from there originally and my buddies are very familiar with the river. We were watching the highlight show, and they recognized the area he was in and said that it is very, very shallow. He definitely wasn't fishing his strengths on day one.

Ok. Got to thinking about this, did a little research, didn't find anything I felt good about. So,.... How far do you think bass travel? For example, our tournament Saturday was on a lake that is probably 25 miles from dam to dam. There were approximately 100 fish weighed, and every last one of them was dropped back in the water right there at the dock. How far and when do you think these bass travel????? My theory is that most of these bass hold tight around the first structure/cover they find and sit tight for a day or so before wandering. I still don't know if they travel far after that....what are some of your thoughts?????? Do you think they can find a way back to their "home" or their bed????

I just don't like what the whole thing has done to kids. My younger brother graduated high school 2 years ago, and there were a number of kids on his team that were using steroids. 5 out of 9 starters at the last college I played for (which was very, very small, Division 3) were actively using steroids. They are dangerous for anyone to use and they provide an unfair advantage against those who are not willing to shave 10 years off of their lives. Steroids can't help you hit a curveball, but steroids will help you turn a 326 foot fly out into a 342 foot homerun.

This is an awesome reel regardless of the price range. Bought the 100H model for my brother on sale at Academy for only 29 bucks and it FAR exceeded my expectations. I have used it for pitching jigs and casting spinnerbaits. Good all purpose reel.

Will I love the 15lb. camo green if I use a conditioner or is that just too heavy for yo-zuri....????

I don't like what the tournament stands for. If this happens, BASS will definitely think twice before going back. Its one thing to have a coincidence with a tournament scheduled the same weekend, but to attempt to arrange one basically out of spite is another. Bass fishing is basically the only sport in which you can be on the playing field. I can't drive my truck around talladega just to see if I can beat any of those guys, and I can't just go get in the box against CC Sabathia just to see if I could hit him. Given, the medium on which they compete is privately owned property...still, I just don't like the idea of doing something just to prove a point or be vengeful.

The first time, I always buy one of everything. If I like it, I'll load up.

I just bought a used Daiwa exceler on ebay, and it feels pretty good for the most part...casts long and smooth.. My problem though is that after the cast, when I go to engage the spool....30% of the time, it doesn't engage until after a couple turns on the handle. Are these serious gear issues?? Do I need to try to get my money back..what do you guys think? Thanks!

I did that with turbotax and taxact. (basically using it for free without filing) Taxact was much better for me...easier to use and helped me find more deductions for a bigger refund, cheaper filing costs. Any refund coming my way is already gone though...

i am now adding Berkley Vanish to my list....should have listened to basically everyone here, but it was super cheap at walmart....it seems to develop abrasions just from waves---GARBAGE!

This is one of those questions in which you will hopefully get 100 different answers, test them out, and find out what works for you. Time is going to depend on what you're tossin at em I would say...spinnerbaits and crankbaits will be quicker, t-rigs and jigs will be slower..... pick a spot and try 2-3 rounds of fan casting, varying your retrieve and then move on, however long that actually takes for each bait....but...I would say start with the crankbaits and spinnerbaits to find the fish. Once you do, wear em out with everything else you got! There are TONS of variables here...but as a general guideline, this has worked for me! Good luck!
