Man, I hate that I burned out on it...I got the fever really bad in the early 2000's, but they have turned almost everyone into a robot. The constant yellow flags for no apparent reason aggravate me more than anything...oops someone's getting too far ahead...throw a flag...oops (fill in driver) is getting too far behind, and his sponsor owns 50% of this track, so throw a yellow.... Plus (and i've never driven a racecar in my life) but it seems to have far less to do with driver skill now...seems that whoever has the most $$$$$ or the most brilliant crew chief (no one can debate that Chad Knaus is an automotive genius, and I really dislike the 48 team) is the team that is going to win

Dumb Purchases
What fishing purchase are you most ashamed of??? I hate to admit, but about 2 years ago when I first started, I saw one of those 30 minute Bill Dance commercials, and the next time I went to BassPro, I purchased my very own Dancin Eel....Used it once, then felt like a dum dum.

pre spawn/spawn/post spawn temperature ?'s
I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks.....The weather here has been so unpredictable...at the beginning of January, water temps were at about 58, now, we are in the 49-51 range....I'm hoping we can get some type of stabilization in the next couple weeks.

Is this boat a steal?
NOT A MISPRINT! Its a phony ad. I would almost guarantee that. I put my boat on ebay about 8 months ago listed at 10K, and someone on this site sent me a pm saying that they were going to make an offer as they had seen it in orlando's craigslist. I went to check it out and sure enough, there was my boat...exactly, my pictures, my description, my everything, except contact info....the price listed was 4K. I replied to the ad just to see what they would say...and the guy actually wrote me back saying he was a soldier and just needed to sell his boat before deployment.... DO A GOOGLE SEARCH AND I WOULD BET YOU WILL SEE THAT SAME BOAT FOR SALE ON CRAIGSLISTS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY...SOME HAVE BEEN FLAGGED FOR REMOVAL

What would you do?? ** UPDATE**
man....i've never ordered marine carpet before, but anything that takes 3 months.........hmmmm.... I would probably not let anyone tell me "we'll get back to you anymore," especially since it sounds like they aren't getting back to you...manager is a good route. Get a firm date on when you should receive it, or get your money back and go somewhere else.

buying rods/reels on ebay?
I've bought 2 reels on ebay. The first was used, but I couldn't tell it when I got it. Its a $50 reel that I wouldn't have normally bought, but it was only $15, and it has turned out to be a great reel. I've got a Daiwa Exceler sitting in my mailbox right now that I bought the other day for $36. Basically half price. 1. USE PAYPAL 2. Absolutely read the fine print. I have seen a lot of rods in which the description says "New," but then the print says......tip replaced. Just use your good sense

Craziest thing happened to me while fishing today.
Thats pretty slick. I've done it with a crankbait, and mine were 12 inchers. To have one in the 3-4 range, and the other 2lbs. on one hook----AWESOME. Congratulations

Thats the way it goes. People either love it or hate it. Character development is more important on that show than any other. And....there are no bad shows.

Does a name make you buy or not buy a certain brand?
Like most of the others are saying...it depends on what we're talking about. I will try almost anyone's soft plastic stuff once. The hard baits are another story, i really like strike king and H20 express cranks. I have bought several cheaper baits and the finish wears out very quickly or they come out of the package needing tuning (WHICH I ABSOLUTELY HATE DOING). As far as rods and reels, its more like brand disloyalty...there are a few manufacturers that I would absolutely NOT buy from.

I agree. Banks have been irresponsible, but we live in a capitalistic society in which the sky is the limit. People have got to be smarter about the choices they make. Buying a house shifted to be more like buying a car. I would be willing to bet you that I can go out and buy a 35K truck today when I dadgum sure can't afford it. I strongly believe in letting markets regulate themselves, but when you give that kind of power to people they start seeing dollar signs and bigger houses and 21 footers with 250HPDI's and just screw it up from every angle--providers, retailers, lenders AND consumers.
