What Is A Good All Around Rod?
When I was in VA, I picked up a 7' MH Berkley Lightning Rod (not a shock model), and a Pinnacle Platinum reel. Spooled it up with 12# fluoro, and I gotta say that was a great combo for the money. I caught dozens of bass and pickerel while on vacation with my family. I fished shallow cranks, traps, t-rigs, spinnerbaits, and even a spook with it.

Cardinals And Rangers In World Series
One of the sloppiest WS games I've seen in a long time. 10-9 and how many errors?

Curado Vs Fuego Question
If I had to guess, I'd say the newer reel is worse with light baits. The best reels with light stuff have the lightest spools.

I'm surprised at all the slow, contact and feel baits mentioned. This is the time of year where you can really exploit the bite on horizontal stuff. You'll cover more ground and catch more fish.

The type of help he is able to give in Haiti would probably get him sued here.

Curado Vs Fuego Question
That's a really good analysis and review right there. The Fuego was never meant for light baits, whereas the Curado 50 series is. The Sol is Daiwa's light bait reel from that era. Just curious....where did the Revo stack up?

Alabama Rig
Let's get two, and I'll show you some spots at the Dump.

Alabama Rig
I think guys look at it as just a ton of hooks, and think it's a percentage game. That's not what it's meant for. It's a pretty specific tool for a pretty specific circumstance. Look at the K-Lake Everstart results...despite everyone and their brother throwing it, weights were better up here on Oneida for the Northern Open. Again, to win you have to be the guy doing all the right things at the right time. No magic bait hocus pocus.

Nanofil Underwater Visibility Test
Not an absolute, but true much of the time. I rarely use a leader for visibility reasons - it's for abrasion resistance or because the leader sinks. It's also great when dealing with snot algae, since it slips right off the leader rather than sticking to the braid.

Anti Reverse Fails In Cold-Wet Weather
Another vote for too much gunk in the one way bearing.

Question About Dual Brakes
This is fine for older reels and really can bring a oldie back into a goodie, but newer designs require different modifications for only modest performance gains.

Alabama Rig
I'm not above putting stinger hooks on my stinger hooks.

Alabama Rig
Well, I'll just run down there after work. My point was, they aren't readily available for general consumption.

Rate My Combo
I have this rod - awesome tool! 9/10 - no way I'm putting that sissy sewing thread on my reels, LOL. Peanut sized cranks: St. Croix AVC70MM Daiwa Alphas (Carbontex upgrade) 10# CXX

Alabama Rig
I doubt it, the maker has a 6 month wait on them.

Alabama Rig
Wacky or T-rigged? Do you need scent to get them to bite the dynamite?
-
Alabama Rig?
You spread the wires to prevent them from tangling. The baits are just paddletails on open hook jigheads.

Truck Tailgate Theft
I guess it's a rig by rig deal.

I've heard this before. The last gentleman to try this didn't come through.

Truck Tailgate Theft
I've only ever seen one trailer (my buddy's Bullet) that wouldn't allow you to open the tailgate to back down. I do it on mine every time.

Truck Tailgate Theft
Prevents snow drifts in the bed.

Truck Tailgate Theft
I suppose they would use tools to cut the cables, eh? Like I said. And why so many people leave their cars unlocked?
