  1. For $10? Sure, yeah.
  2. We have other ways to break you....heh.
  3. I guess I'm more comfortable in stained (not muddy) water, though my best catches have been in clear water.
  4. It depends on the contract. I know someone with two rod sponsorship deals right now.
  5. Yeah. I can't get over 70 in my buddy's without it getting squirrely. He has no issues abusing me as a passenger though. Ever run 85 in the rain?
  6. Flats are good baits, though carved, and weren't very durable. I recall the bill pulling free from the body on several. They were always replaced at no charge; must have gotten expensive.
  7. You probably wouldn't like the meat once they are green and kype'd up. Not at all what you think, brown and mushy. Now, if they are dime bright, that's another story! Up here we use centrepins and 15' UL rods. That initial run is unstoppable, on ANY gear. A real blast!
  8. Here's a great start: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/jig_uses.html
  9. last time I was at ours, there were DT-16 galore in the bin. Who knows....our Gander is a little ahem, goofy....
  10. A shorter, 6 to 7' medium/fast spinner should work fine. I like a shorter rod simply because I keep the tip down for this presentation. That way, I'm ALWAYS ready for a hook set.
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. That is a very strange rod. To be honest, that rod doesn't sound like it would work for anything bass related, including it's stated purpose. It's not what I'd use, anyway. That is a classic Texas Rig, not soft plastic jerk baiting. Not at all. I use a 6-2 casting rod, and two 6-3 spinners simply because I don't like the tip splashing in the water, LOL. Just think, 6'6" rods were considered "long" 15 years ago. Lastly, hot tip for hookups on plastic jerkbaits? Nose hook them with a finesse hook.
  13. Gander has them in the clearance bins. Rapala's M.O. is all about discontinuing good baits. If history serves us, they'll wittle the line down to a few bread and butter models, making room for newer offerings.
  14. Gammies, VMC Inlines, Owner Stinger ST-31. Good, better, best.
  15. I use whatever spinning rod is laying around. If you need a special rod for this, you are doing it wrong.
  16. It depends on what the stock hooks are. What baits are they? Some are fine right out of the box, and some are terrible.
  17. OK, I guess not, then,. Nevermind
  18. Nice mud shark!
  19. Who's got two thumbs and can catch fish? This guy:
  20. It's perfectly fine to link to TW, or mention them. Some things are just too ubiquitous to ignore. I personally think that TW, Hi's Tackle Box, and other retailers with a strong "web presence" are a good thing for bass fishing, even if they aren't sponsors.
  21. I still say have it at Erie. You can stay at my house.
