Engine Blowing Up On The Dyno
Looks like a a head gasket failure at :26 when they ramped up the rpms, causing catastrophic failure later. The "liquid" is water/antifreeze mixed with oil. I'm somewhat familiar with that ugly sight, LOL.

Non-boater boating etiquette question
Split the gas and fees, and get lunch. As far as all the other costs of owning a boat, that is nopt the non boater's responsibility. If you can't afford a boat, don't own one.

Bass Boat?
We have no idea the OP's situation, and again, who sells after a year? Where's the hit? Northern boats DO hold their resale better. I wonder what the average length of boat ownership is in WI. It's more than a year, probably more like 7 years. Northern boats DO hold their resale better. I'm not disagreeing with anyone about the advice to buy used - I just did myself - but not for the reasons listed. I just didn't want a boat payment, so I payed cash for used. Either way, new or used, if you wait a year to buy a boat, then you have to wait a year to have a boat.

What Is The Lightest Lure You Have Thrown With A Bc?
Probably about a 1/6 oz. spoon, but it was with an 11' light power trout rod, and an Alphas Ito Ai reel spooled with 8# line.

Line Spooling
It has NOTHING to do with the line, and everything to do with the reel. Look on the reel instructions for how to spool. Here's a Snippet from a Shimano reel:

Bass Boat?
I've never understood this statement. How many buyers drive off the lot, only to turn around and sell? It doesn't make sense. Now, if you're talking resale after a few years, look at this again....the OP is in WI. That means short running season in pretty decent conditions. No scorching heat and UV damage that southern locales will incur, so he'll be selling/trading a low hours boat that looks great from more, if he takes care of it. There's some security in buying a new boat. All that said, there are some SCREAMING used deals right now. They were even better this past winter. Consider this, get a used boat, pile up some wins, and then get on the Nitro Team with incentives based payment plan.

What Size Lc Sammy And Gunfish Do You Prefer?
Wood is silent, plastic has rattles. I like the wood for calm, clear waters. My only wood Sammy is a 100 size in MS Am. Shad. That color seems to suffer the least from hook rash, though I have other baits that are almost clear that still catch well.

Fishing From Chest Waders.
OK, I'll say it...just because you have chest waders doesn't mean you should be chest deep. You're asking for trouble. Not gonna say I haven't been "chest deep" to get to a spot, but anything over you waist in chest waders isn't safe at all. Take it from me, I've filled my waders after slipping twice, and even with a wading belt, it isn't easy to get out of the water.

Marine Electronic Mapping
They'd have to. Remember, this information is important to many outside of fishing - geologists, biologists, Corp of Engineers, Military, etc.

You are a lot closer to the truth than you realize, LOL. Mattlures Hard Gill and Hard Bass floaters have been aces so far.

Pike
Clayton, just remember this, northerns like it cold. Also, when its nasty, cold front weather, and bass have shut down, northerns become spunky. So, where ever the water is cooler, and/or the weather turns, you can usually find good pike. Good luck with PMT. When you get back, bass will be over their post spawn blues and feeding well. You'll get over it fast Hamby, I fed six or seven slim shad to northerns last late summer. They were following, bumping, and I'd kill it letting it suspend, and then give it a twitch, like an X-rap or Pointer. They would whack it every time, unfortunately it was always a northern. I never learned either, losing all those baits, LOL. I did catch three pike in the 12-13 lb. class, though.

What Size Lc Sammy And Gunfish Do You Prefer?
LOL, it is different. When I started throwing jerkbaits, all we had were Rogues and floating Rapalas, neither casted on BC gear nicely, so I got used to it.

What Size Lc Sammy And Gunfish Do You Prefer?
Less than 100mm, I go with a spinning rod, an old 6' M/F Shimano. Same thing I use for poppers.
