Jerkbaits don't come alive for me until the upper 40s. I'd be useing a blade bait or hair jig.

Shimano Rod Warranty????
Some stores simply support the product they sell. I know when I ran retail, I'd take defective exchanges from other stores, simply to possibly earn a new customer. It makes great business sense, as long as you can get credit for the defective item.

Daiwa reels?
While it looks similar to the TD-Z/Fuego, the Zillion is unique, in both dimension and mechanically. The TD-A is a big boy, but very durable. The Sol/Alphas are tiny, when compared to other brands. They also don't hold a ton of line, and are slow - 25 IPT? I love them, though. Another to consider is the Aggrest. Very nicely made reel with a totally different form than any of the other Daiwas.

WTH is up with kids today??
You guys should check out the Big Brothers program, if you really want to do something other than complain about kids these days. It's a great program with great benefits to both adults and kids.

WTH is up with kids today??
First time I've ever had a kid mouh off to me. Don't know what you're use to, but it's obviously different than what I'm accustomed to. I guess I misunderstood your title, so its just two kids these days? ;D Look man, teenagers are nasty, foul mouthed messes. There's been two out of every 100 or so that are mouthy, disrespectful, etc. since the beginning of time, and you met them. Two ain't a trend. I never understood the "kids these days..." attitude. If you think its a real problem, step and be leader - do something about it. For me, I'm satisfied raising two decent men. Don't rag on kids these days, when its just a couple. Its like cursing those dam bass boats speeding all over the lake.

Ditch Report
Perfect flow today, but low numbers. I did help a guy land a nice 27" fish. I went three for four hookups, and only got caught in the lumber twice, LOL. I did end up slipping and landing flat on my back, in current. God bless my Frogg Toggs waders, LOL. Good times, but I'm sore, and somehow tore off half my thumbnail in the fall! Some pics, by my friend Scott. Think he wanted that bait?

WTH is up with kids today??
OMG, a teenager said something disrespectful! The sky is falling, LOL. Uhhhh, that's been happening since teenagers were invented. Eventually they say the wrong thing to the wrong person, and the internal filter called maturity kicks in.

Was this a (swimbait) bite?
I use 25# CXX. Same difference, as far as abrasion goes.

Advice on a Tow Vehicle
Stay on topic...... Out of the OP's original list, only the full size Tahoe is appropriate for anything other than very short towing duty of a boat that size. Personally, a pickup is preferable. I've also seen tons of Blazers, Explorers, Pathfinders, etc. types get eaten alive after a year or two towing.

gear ratio help ?
Its pretty simple.....bigger spool, bigger circumference, more line each turn of the spool.

Guide deal?

St. Croix LTB, Extreme, Elite
I would caution against XF tapers and wacky rigs.....my AVC68MXF just loads into the backbone too quickly, and you throw the worm on the back cast one out of three times, especially with that side arm, loop cast to get a couple skips. The Teaser is much more suited for this.

Never caught anything on this lure...
DT10 were not designed to use in ponds. (kidding!)

Sweeper is great rod, with the right reel. You could go with the Teaser for unweighted plastics as well. In fact, the Teaser/Sweeper combo would probably cover 90% of your fishing. I've looked long and hard at the Tube rod, everything is right about this stick, but it doesn't call out to me. Don't feel like I'm missing anything not owning it. There is a LTW (walleye) rod that really has me interested for light jigs in heavier than normal cover: TWS70MHM, yeah a spinner. Places where you'd like to throw a 1/4 jig, and not be bothered with a baitcaster, but be able to horse a fish from cover with 20# braid.

For me? Avid. I MUST have a full rear grip for cranking. It comes down to the grip, really. The LTB is a tad faster, viewed side by side. Nothing that would matter, though.

Unless you MUST have a split grip, the Avid version (AVC70MHM) is every bit as good, if not better.

St. Croix LTB, Extreme, Elite
Ditto, though the Elite I had was a spinner, and Extreme was a flipping stick. I actually get what I need out of the Avids. The LTB are slight step up from there, mostly just lighter. Since SC doesn't actually make "matched" combos, you'll also want to try a few different reels, and find the best match. I have a few rods that simply felt wrong with one reel get really nice with another. The LTBC70MHF is one example. Sucked with a Zill on it, was great with a TD-X103HSDL.
