Anyone use swivels or snaps?
How does using a snap allow a stronger palomar? The only difference I can think of is that you can use a smaller loop going around a snap vs. a crankbait, but I'm not sure of how this would affect knot strength. Is it because a shorter pull when cinching means less friction going through the knot? Yes, and you'll never tie the knot in the split of the split ring.

Anyone use swivels or snaps?
Tee hee.....should have cropped that out. :-X I remove the trebles from all my spoons, better hookups, less hangups, and you can use a x-fast rod.

Anyone use swivels or snaps?
Swivels are a necessary part of a Carolina rig. I use them with spoons as well: Some use them to avoid twist in their drop shot rigging. I also use swivels with flukes, two with a tandem fluke rig. Snaps, yes. #2 and #3 Duo Lock Snaps for almost all hard baits. They allow me to tie a much stronger Palomar knot. There are a few baits that just don't work with a snap, but its just a few.

Am I rigging this trailer right?
All three are correct, each is a different profile and different rate of fall, though I never hook just a tiny bit like in the 1st pic.

strike king red eye shad
Most of my trappin' happens in spring, and deflection of the name of the game. This bait just doesn't have the right head shape, and nose down attitude at high speeds as other baits do. If you like yo-yoing in open water, then have at it. Like Pretty much EVERY other vibe bait out there, the finish sticks, and wears out very fast. Hooks are of so-so quality as well.

what do you use for finess fishing?
I VERY MUCH agree with this statement, though in deep northern lakes, finesse usually means lighter line for bigger bass. Thus, light spinning gear, to help protect that light line. But yeah, you can fish a 1 oz. jig or DD22 with every bit of finesse.

new rod and reel at dicks
I just bought a Saint Croix rod from Gander. It had two stickers on it, one was $159.99 and the other one, a red one, said $169.99 on it. I went with the higher price. Red labels were 40% off, LOL.

North Fork Composites
Temple Fork Outfitters and North Fork Composites are two COMPLETELY different companies. TFO sells finished rods, and has a bass series designed with the help of Gary Loomis. NFC sells blanks made by Gary Loomis.

new rod and reel at dicks
Dude, thieves swap tags all the time. All that law does is handcuff retailers, and encourage thieves. I ran retail stores for 10 years, record stores and pet shops, and it was hard enough just to keep merch walking out the door, let alone micromanage who priced what, LOL. As far as the original post, any Dick's I've been to had little shelf stands with the PRODUCT MODEL and PRICE clearly marked, not always the individual items. So, the card probably said "Revo S $99.99" and a Revo SX was behind it. If you think the store owes you a reel at $100, think again. if you were in my store, and complained long enough, you'd be escorted out the front door. My favorite comeback for jerks that threatened to tell all their friends not to come, was "Good, they're probably jerks, too," LOL. Look guys, all this swindling does is raise a retailers shrink, which increases their bottom line. Guess where they make that up.... Something is an honest mistake, point it out, most will give it to you for that price, within reason.

new rod and reel at dicks
In what part of the legal code is that located? http://www.michigan.gov/ag/consumer_protect/alerts/item+pricing+(scanner+law)+frequently+asked+question+32008 We have laws about pricing here. What's the law say about consumers switching tags? :-?

Regulators push 20% down payments on mortgages
I have to disagree. 20% down especially for first time home buyers is extremely difficult and even rare in some areas. The average sales price in my market is $450,000. 20% down is $90,000 plus closing costs in some situations. That is very tough for some buyers. You'd be surprised what you can come up with, in a relatively short period of time, as long as you set goals. I was able to save up 15% in about 18 mos., and I'm super glad to have that lower monthly payment. Its good to have a cushion, things come up when owning a house.

Daiwa and the small phillips drive shaft
I love my Wiha tools, but for that particular screw, I have an old, el cheapo Stanley long shaft #1 Phillips head that gets the job done. The issue with that screw is that it's softer than most screw driver tips.

Why does everyone buy the lures that win The Classic
I think its great that people go out and buy these. When I'm fishing against a guy in a tournament, and he's burning a red eye shad in a shallow creek channel in the dead of July because he watched his DVR'd Classic coverage for the 127th time to get prepped for his big day, then I'm a happy camper. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Daiwa and the small phillips drive shaft
The plate the screw holds down is what I meant. I end up scrapping that, and ordering a new one, if I really can't get that bearing clean without removing it, i.e. a VERY dirty reel. The reel I posted was a Daiwa TD-Z BBS, and the bearing was fine, cleaned in place. Just curious if you had a special cutting wheel you used, but its probably the same thin one I have. Thanks!
