  1. I think LBH is asking about hardware to attach the hooks.
  2. Sweet! Stuck my 1st green fish of the year yesterday.
  3. Caught my first green fish of '09 yesterday. ;D
  4. I fish middle of the road St. Croix , Kistler, and Team All Star.
  5. Walleye, perch, and blue gill make excellent table fare. Keep releasing the trophies, though. Even perch - big fat females don't have nearly as much flesh as the smaller males.
  6. Try clicking on the view sponsors link on the right, and click on the banner for their website.
  7. Not sure you can recommend what direction to turn the parts on the handle/drag components without know whether its a left or right hand retrieve If you're new to this, send it to a pro, or have the manufacturer clean and lube it. The owners manual should show you how to adjust the brakes. Out is "on" and in towards the center is off. Make sure there is balance in your settings. Turn them on/off in opposite pairs, or three on, every other pin.
  8. I wonder what the fishery will be like after this batch of smallies are gone. I've read that recruitment has been low, due to gobies raiding nests.
  9. If you pitch and flip, casting with your right hand, you'll appreciate a left handed reel. I use two older TD-X103HSDL that have the thumbar on the top of the reel, so I can palm with my right without moving it to cast. Another cool aspect about any modern Daiwa, is that you can engage the spool simply by flicking the thumbar back up with your thumb. Try that with a Shimano
  10. Then is sounds to me like the NY record is ripe for the pickin'... If you do it in a kayak, you win $5000... If you go out in Erie in a Kayak you deserve more than $5000 I've been 2 miles out in Ontario in 3' rollers. You need the right kind of kayak.
  11. I agree, and these brothers worked their butts off for it.
  12. After 30 years of fishing, I can feel a difference in a rod without fishing it. While I wasn't overly impressed with the Mojo series, it is worlds apart from an Extreme. That said, an Extreme is a fine rod at that price point. Yes I held both in the store, and compared them with a reel mounted.
  13. Paul, the OH state record is from Erie, a 9-8 caught by Randy VanDam on June 16, 1993.
  14. You know as well as I know, that's a Sodus Cookie Cutter, LOL. here is a "nice fish," last year's biggest, just over 6 lbs.:
  15. I had GERD, and it ultimately took an anti biotic to beat the ulcer in my throat. I know the pain and anguish CatfishKing speaks of. Its a terrible illness.
  16. Yeah, those are the ones. Geez, that fish is so big, it doesn't look right. We have these 3 pounders here, instead:
  17. Eyes wide open buddy. Stick worms are played out in most of the waters here. I bet you would!!!! LMAO too. Keep up the good work.
  18. Does this make you green with ***? Now, if I could get some of the fish you have out there in here, I'd have my dreams come true
  19. I'd simply contact Abu service. Mikes is in Canada, BTW. Abu Garcia Pure Fishing USA 1900 18th Street Spirit Lake, IA 51360 Tel: 1.800.228.4272 Email: abugarcia@purefishing.com
  20. He was talking about the larger size, not the 5". b the cost isn't bad when you get 'a few bites'. Figure how much it would cost to catch 40 of 'em. How about guides? Handing those worms out two or three at a time? Personally, if you're catching 40 of them, then I'd say you could probably find another pattern thats even more efficient. If I paid a guide, and he handed me Senkos, I'd be a little disappointed. I guess I see them as a follow up bait, more than a primary bait or search bait.
  21. Ahhh, foot in mouth disease strikes again. 6" Senkos don't work anyway ;D
  22. Since when are Senkos $12 a bag? Bad math there, they are $6 for a bag of 10. $.60 for a few bites isn't really so bad, considering the rest of my gear used to catch that fish, LOL. Try and look at the big picture here, guys.
  23. No trailer, always a trailer hook. If I hook two consecutive bass on the trailer hook, I'll switch colors.
  24. The fighting chair is a nice touch. Awesome!
