  1. I think I have mine set to all on, no magnetic. Spool tension is fairly loose. Much of this depends on ability, casting style, and equipment used. It's best to go heavy on tension and brakes, and dial them back to your ability.
  2. Single digits, -5* wind chill, white out conditions for rush hour. I'm about done with the season.
  3. I would take it up with Dobyns directly. Call them.
  4. Summer, 2001. Michelle Austin Band. I'm in the middle.
  5. This might be one of the coolest features I've seen in a while. Totally solves the SI issue with a kayak. Not having a deployment arm in the way is big plus.
  6. We're done here.
  7. I cover about 5 or 6 miles, and fish as I go. Toxic is right, running fast in a boat is fun. Even in the boat, the farthest I ran was around 10 miles tops. Gas is too expensive, and mine guzzles it.
  8. I've had pike do that in creeks. I'm more an open water bass angler, so not as much an issue. There's always this move:
  9. 6 hours at the indoor park. Dirty wheels....
  10. It matters little, the fish anyone catches that deep, is for the table anyway.
  11. Pretty much everyone that kayak fishes, stands. That's provided they have a boat made for standing.
  12. I had a canoe years ago, and it worked well, but compared to fishing out of a rigged up, fishing kayak, it's no contest. The wind doewsn't blow you around as much, better storage, can stand easily in certain models, easier to rig electronics, less fuss to transport. A canoe is still fun to take out for a "nature paddle," but not for fishing.
  13. Shimano had a 2-speed reel. Finicky thing.
  14. It works fine in a kayak. just slow the screen speed down a little. Both of my paddle kayaks (Cossa, Commander) go around 2.5 -3 mph with little effort. My Hobie Compass gors around 3.5-4 mph with the Mirage drive.
  15. Water below the thermocline is far from devoid of oxygen. Much the opposite on the Great Lakes. It's cold and saturated with high O2 levels. Perfect for the salmonoids that lurk there.
  16. Ugh, that gets under my skin, lol.
  17. Many of our long time members like to pounce, and pounce quick when I miss some detail. It's sort of a game.
  18. I don't bother with wetting it. Makes no difference.
