  1. I didn't get out this winter either. I'm just up the other side of the hill, off Helendale.
  2. My biggest NY state bass is 7-2, caught on a 10" Powerworm and 1/2 oz. bullet weight using 50# braid. My second largest NY state bass was 7-1, caught on a 3/32 oz. wacky jig using a 6# leader. Go figure.
  3. Why do you want to fill it? I just T-rig them, or thread them on a jig, as is. They work great.
  4. I know what it's for, just teasing Glenn.
  5. Agreed. From an article: https://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/bass_elite50_05a.html
  6. I like 15# Seaguar Rippin' Mono.
  7. Yep. Next, fix up the truck - brakes, evap solenoid, new boots - and talk she who must be obeyed into a new boat.
  8. Sounds like your steering hydraulics are malfunctioning.
  9. The only Daiwa with a switch NOT on the bottom is the SS Tournament reel, which is a decades old design, and doesn't have instant anti-reverse. All Okuma reels are bottom switches. Abu has mostly deleted the switch altogether. I think you'll have difficulty finding any reel with a switch not on the bottom in any modern, instant anti-reverse reel. The switch controls a spring that activates the one way roller bearing located just under the spinning rotor, therefore must be close to the spool. The bottom is the most convenient place to locate the switch. In the case of the Daiwa SS, the "dog-and-bone" anti reverse cog is on the main gear stack, under the handle, so the switch can located on the rear of the reel.
  10. What's with the feather-duster? ?
  11. Most of the pics of fish on bump boards would be DQ'd in any of the online tournaments I've been in. Closed mouth, against the edge, and tail on the board. I see it two ways. You are documenting a length or weight, or you are capturing a moment. In each case, there can be guidelines. In the latter, I'm totally okay with augmenting the look of the fish. It's a joyful moment, why make it stale? If you're documenting a measurement, then do that accurately. Two purposes. Which one is bigger?
  12. Secure enough that my coworker uses one for his iPad on his motorcycle.
  13. My old buddy, Duke, in the big bowl. Frontside.
  14. I would not use 12 lb. anything on a spinning reel. It's rare that I find an 8 lb. line line that behaves. I typically use 6 lb. line, or equivalent diameter.
  15. You're more right than wrong.
  16. I had a 7' MHF Avid that I hated with a TD-A reel on it. Switched it out for a TD-X, and bam! I had a great general purpose rod.
  17. KVD L&L. Always. Any line.
  18. Not exactly, but this a 3.5" Ribbit on a jig:
