I average around 250g of carbs per day. Skatepark, rehearsal, or shoveling snow requires another 50g or so.

It will work fine, but 8# Blue Label will work better. Lakes Erie and Ontario are pretty big swimming pools. I'll use 12-20# fluoro fishing shallow in spring, depending on the cover. Once the mats kick in, I use 50# braid. If I'm fishing rock reefs or rip rap, back to fluoro. Zebra mussels slice through braid.

Confirms what I always realize in these threads: line choice is very personal. Often, one tiny positive, or worse, a tiny negative experience can define one's opinion about what is best. So far, Seguar hasn't let me down. Many others have. Keep in mind, I was a all CXX person just a half decade ago, and shunned fluoro after early experiences.

Row or sell? Think you mean PEDAL! Peddle pedal kayaks, but still sell them a paddle. Depends on the boat for me. I have no issue paddling my Commander 140, but I enjoy pedaling my Compass. It's an advantage to be able to hold position while fishing, or even troll, keeping the rod in your hand instead of the rod holder. I'm convinced Jacob would not have lost the two lakers he had on if he had a pedal drive.

Invisx is SUPPOSED to stretch. If you think Sniper is that great, you probably haven't used Tatsu. I've tried so many fluoros, and they vary widely in stretch, stiffness, and abrasion resistance. Sniper is good, but not the end all. Fact is, I can't settle on just one line as a general fluoro recommendation, though Invisx comes close, for the guys coming from Big Game, Yo-zuri, or some other popular line. I'm not surprised @Catt likes it in 17 lb. size. I'm working through a 15 lb. 1000 yd. spool since last year. It's been my go to for general purpose, "I don't know what I'm going to use this rig for" setups. It's funny, the longer I fish, the less specialized my gear has become. But that's a whole 'nother topic...

None of these fish would be possible, if not for my kayak. There is no way to access these waters with my bass boat.

Carbs and sugar are one on the same, and have the same effect. Most don't understand that. A gram of carb is a gram of carb, unless it's fiber. Those grams you get to subtract from total carbs. Anyone talking about healthy carbs and bad carbs is a snake oil salesman. Fun fact, the human brain, at idle, need around 120 grams of carbs per day to operate. Pop quiz, where does your brain get those carbs when you don't eat 120 grams per day? Your fat. What do you think this does to your liver? Be careful with weight loss.

Use the rod and reel you like for those baits, then. That's the reel you'll be most familiar with and prefer.

Depends on the bait. Gear ratio has no effect on skipping.

I'd prefer option two. Bigger platform, and console steer. That could be a negative for you, if you're sticking to smaller waters.

OK my western PA peeps, this New Yorker will be invading your waters. I'll be staying at Dewdrop camp. Looks like Dewdrop Run itself is pretty good, but a mile south is Elijah Run, and is loaded with added cover. I'll be kayak fishing this trip. Any tips? I'm not exclusively talking bass, either. I'm willing to sacrifice some swimbaits to a musky.

Don't they use the standard Fuji reel seat? Seems like we'd be hearing quite a bit if it was that pervasive. Also, somewhere I recall Presidents not fitting all rods. I could be wrong.

I'm in complete agreement here. This is always how I start new anglers, regardless of age, gender, or casting ability. Once they get the feel for hooking a fish, and playing them back to the boat, I progress to feel baits, like wacky or weedless worms.

This person is very lucky to be able to fish a fish farm pond. Ekk-Will Farms (tropical fish farm) in in Florida had a catfish pond. You could catch one on just about every cast with whatever lure. Fun at first, but gets boring quick. I learned nothing of value, or about any secret lures that made me an expert. Ignore this dude that claims to hold the holy grail secret of fishing.

You definitely want the medium.

Saint Croix's MXF and MLXF tapers are truly special sticks. I have several in both spinning and casting. The medium power spinning will throw unweighted senkos perfectly. If you're looking to throw super light stuff, below 1/4 oz., then the ML is for you. A note on drop shot, particularly vertical or near vertical (short pitch casts) fishing, you can go much heavier. I use the ML for up to 1/2 oz. DS weight, and the MXF for above 1/2 oz. I wouldn't use those weights with a snap cast.

It does seem to start later, though we had a nasty storm in November.
