  1. My Avid is almost 20 years old. Avid X uses the same SCIII blank.
  2. Korkers studded lug sole will go anywhere.
  3. These guys still catch....
  4. Full carbon fiber with bent/ergo shaft.
  5. It's the law everywhere in the US. It's a USCG regulation.
  6. Get breathable in stocking foot that fit. Then you can get a boot that fits. For waders, it's a you get what you paid for thing. For boots, I like Korkers with the different tread options.
  7. I also use an Avid (older pre IPC) AC62MXF for jerkbaits, spooks, and poppers. This is spooled with 30# Tuf-line Supercast. For traps, squarebills, and small wake baits, I use a LTBC70MF with 15# Invisx.
  8. It helps if you think about how you're going to set the hook as you cast. What direction, is there anything in the way, how hard, flick set, reel set, lean into the fish, or whack 'em? This is especially important when fishing from shore or in tight spaces, like a canoe or kayak.
  9. Of those two choices, Berkley all the way.
  10. I'm thinking the local physical design probably influences that. This is the dock from where I grew up. Pretty easy to skip.
  11. *I* like medium/X-fast, but let the bait size determine the power. I have a few bigger/heavier jerkbaits that need a med-heavy to throw, though they are more for pike.
  12. Use 'em if you like them. I like a shorter, x-fast rod, with a short rear grip for jerk baits. It's really preference. You'll find it split probably 60-40 fast to slower.
  13. That's probably my biggest thing I get. Working with all the people up here, all of us with a common interest is great.
  14. I don't like to use jerk baits on a moderate rod, but if I wanted to use both, I'd go with 10# mono, like Seaguar Rippin'.
  15. They're all bait fish.
  16. ??? Uh, skipping jigs under docks has been a staple for two decades. I remember an article with one of the Hibdons, back in the late 80s or early 90s talking about using an 808 for skipping. I know my personal favorite reel for skipping is a special TD-X HSDL pitching reel, with a relocated thumb bar. I've had that reel since it was new, maybe around early 2000s. That has to be around 15 years old, now, and I bought mine used. I'm not disagreeing that you didn't see it in CA, I'm just saying, it's an ingrained technique from my perspective. So ingrained, many look down on it, preferring to look for offshore structure. Sort like, it's too easy to skip docks.
  17. This is the place: http://www.pinelakemanor.com/photo-gallery.html What has been suggested will all work.
  18. Definitely keep it simple. Pick a couple colors of Senkos and some Fat Ikas, go fishing. You already have the perfect gear.
  19. Dock fishing heaven. Place is a bass factory. If you don't come in with 20#, don't bother.
  20. You can get a 10% coupon code and put the logo on your jersey. Check out my content! Crushing it in 2018!
  21. Ever run into the old dude a few docks from the launch on Conesus? That guy is straight up nuts. There's a woman on Eagle Island in Sodus that is nuts too. I've seen her throwing seaweed at angler that get "too close" to her dock.
