  1. We've seen quite a few young stars rise from seemingly nowhere the past few years.
  2. I started to really notice people skipping docks when the Slug-go went viral, back in the 80s. It was easy for anyone with a modicum of skill with a spinning rod to get a bait under the dock. It also coincided with many dock owners up here removing the old crib style dock, favoring the pylon supported style. Yep. What amazes me is that most of the people that boat on the bays off Lake Ontario are property owners themselves. You'd think they'd know better.
  3. Fourscore and seven years ago, lol.
  4. There are two "pontoons" on the side. It stays semi buoyant, with water flowing through vent holes. http://www.frabill.com/open-water-fishing/aeration-bait-care/flow-trollc-bait-containers/flow-troll-bucket.html
  5. I'm 100% with you on this one. So much easier, and I never have to worry about the knot getting caught in the split.
  6. I grew up on the water, with a break wall and a large dock with a covered boat hoist. Who are all these fisherman tearing up upholstery, leaving hooks in pylons, and doing all this trespassing and mayhem? I don't really recall any of this going on. You might find a hook stuck in the wood decking, but for all we knew, it was from one of us dozen or so kids, or even an adult. In pretty much all cases, exchanges with fisherman - rec and tourney guys alike - was pleasant. Water skiers, jet skis, and recreational boaters was a toss up.
  7. If I was a young, up and coming angler, this would be the thing I'd be shooting for.
  8. Finally got to listen to this, with a critical ear. Not my favorite style, but this is excellent. Reminds a bit of John Moreland, but not as depressing. The production is silky smooth, and well mastered. Thanks for sharing this!
  9. One of the greatest rock drummers for sure, and my favorite. A huge influence on just what drums can be within the context of rock music.
  10. Happy Birthday to The Professor
  11. I've seen all sorts of contraptions geared toward discouraging fishing near docks. The absolute worst are the mats that are staked to the bottom to prevent weed growth. Those things are hook eaters.
  12. Seems like this might also disrupt the current angler-sponsor model. A television product isn't the same as a traditional tournament.
  13. Siebert Outdoors has made a similar custom jig for me. Contact him through PM here. https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/profile/1319-siebert-outdoors/
  14. Sieberts. Ordered them on a Friday, in my mailbox Monday. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/
  15. Come to the dark side! This is an actual picture of Catt:
  16. They work great with high action baits, like Ragetail. So much, many call it "Rage-Rigging" http://moanerhooks.com/news/the-rage-rig/
  17. Agree! That really is the issue. They look at the whole lake, and wonder why, with all that water, are you fishing THEIR dock.
  18. Try a Uni before giving up on the line. It's a pretty easy knot to tie.
  19. Point out to them, that despite the fact that you're within your rights, you'll back off and move on. It's not worth an argument with a loonie. If they are threatening, just dial the police, and move on.
  20. I see as something for someone that can't own/afford both.
  21. No, both drives methods have prop wash. A trolling motor is all it takes to disturb a nest. Also, a jet drive doesn't have to operate at full throttle, just like a prop drive.
  22. Seems like this problem has been worked out over 50 years of making bass boats that have safe storage. I mean, the rods and rear storage are all locked in.
  23. Huh? Why would it make a difference if it a prop a foot under the water or jet in inches? They both do the same thing, just one is an enclosed system.
