Tubes help please
I like Bite Me Big Head Goby Head tube jigs. They're heavy, so you'll want to use a stout rod.

Braid knots other than palomar
6 turn Uni knot holds well with all types of braid I've used.

Bowfin anyone?
It's only spring time when bowfin generally intersect with bass as far as environments. Summer, they stick to marchy backwaters that sometimes don't have enough oxygen to support bass. They can but fun fighting, but they're miserable creatures once in the boat. Do not lip them, lol. No reason to bonk them either, they were there before a bass ever existed.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
That's about right, based on the billions of browns I've caught. Also, at least I get to hold my PB brown over you. 22 lbs. Beautiful fish by the way. Up here, the spots are very faint until late summer early fall. Spring: Fall:

Fishing kayak
I had a wooden prototype for review many years ago. I did not find as useful as I thought I would. It did work, though.

Fishing kayak
I have three rod holders up front, and five in the back. My paddle is an ergo/bent shaft, so even if the wind is blowing, it rests naturally in my lap. I also have a bungee rig up front where I can quickly stick my paddle when fishing, but grab it easily while standing to make an adjustment.

Are all polarized glasses the same quality of polarization?
There's definitely a difference between my Maui Jim glasses and my $20 rack glasses. I'm not sure it makes any difference in my fishing, but I do enjoy how things look through my MJs. They're just too dark for many situations, so I buy a variety of cheaper glasses to fill the gaps. On a sunny day, it's the MJs all the way.

baitcasting rod with a spinning reel?
I actually had a 12' UL crappie rod that would take a casting reel or a spinning reel. Worked great both ways.

What size hook for 5" wacky rigged Senko?
I like a Gamakatsu Finesse Wide Gap in 1/0 for 4 and 5" senkos.

Top water rod thought please
Saint Croix AVC62MXF has a short butt, and is about an inch shorter than the same rod in the 6-6 size, if you line up the reels. Great rod for topwater and jerk baits. Also a great short range sniper style spinnerbait rod.

Any Luck In Upstate Ny?
Did really well on Port Bay, yesterday. a couple dozen bass, one almost 4, and two northerns, one over 10. Everything on a spinnerbait. Here's the pike:

What else would work when a Spinnerbait is working?
I'd like to follow up. I started yesterday with a spinnerbait. Caught a dozen or so 15-18" bass, nothing bigger than maybe 3.5 lbs., and two northern pike, one went over 10 lbs. With this thread in mind, I switched to a Savage Gear Bat, and then tried a chatterbait, with no results. I went back to the spinnerbait, and started catching again. I feel like I might have wasted an hour and a half, when I should have just stuck to that was working, and working real well. The fish are where you find them, and keep throwing what works, until it doesn't.

Huge Muskie Problem!!!
Yep. There's a local Asian restaurant nearby Oneida Lake, and we would regularly would drop our limits of pickerel. In exchange, we get a nice, free dinner. They tell us they taste great. I don't think they're big enough to get decent fillets, but the grill method would probably be the ticket.

Painting Soft baits?
No, but if you pre-coat a bait with clear, you can add another color over with a swab. It's in the video, and it works.

Bass rods for trout?
Already put a Daiwa reel on a Shimano rod...

Worst day ever
Sorry about what went down with your mom. I've learned it's very important to set, and enforce boundaries with family when it comes to that. She was probably just worried about you, and it manifested in poor behavior. Tell your girlfriend to stay strong, too.
