What's your confidence lure?
Relax Francis, it's called having an opinion. Not everyone has to agree with everything you or I say. I am confident that EVERY SINGLE BAIT I own, can and will get bit, if the conditions are right. That's what we're trying to teach you.

Another Hi-Vis braid thread.
Not if you use a sensitive stick and fluoro. I think braid is a poor choice for either technique. Too much bow in the line, zero slack line sensitivity, and the lack of stretch doesn't perform well with thine wire finesse hooks.

What's your confidence lure?
I'm not calling anyone weak. I'm calling the argument that some inanimate object somehow gives you confidence is false hope. What happens to your confidence the day that magical lure doesn't work? Then what? Do you fail? Or do you adjust? Have confidence in your skills in locating active fish, and using a bait that matches the situation. I have confidence in my problem solving skills. To me, a confidence bait is darn near the same as the next new magic bait.

Smallmouth whisperer?
I've done it many times, especially when I'm in the kayak. They generally do simmer down better when you belly land them. It works with largemouth too.

How do you organize your crankbaits?
By what rod I use

How to land Bullhead Catfish
Those are definitely suckers. They are on their spawning run right now. As kids we used to snag them or spear them.

How do you organize your crankbaits?
3700 Hydroflo boxes, by what rod is used to throw them.

New Boat/Trolling Motor ?
Also, I'm definitely looking for fish, bait, structure, and cover with my graphs. Especially if I'm out in the big lake. You can fish for miles, and it's all dead water, but when you find them, it's on.

Copolymer
I'd agree with the slippage term. I could not get an improved clinch to hold, like I can with just about every other line.

Copolymer
I've had $20 worth of Tatsu (1/2 spool) on a reel for four seasons. Doesn't get any more cost effective than that.

Cormorants' impact on fisheries
In NYS, you can apply for a special permit to shoot double crested cormorants, if they are affecting your property. I haven't noticed any issues affecting the fisheries around here, though they destroy the trees they perch in by pooping on everything. It's disgusting, and smells from a mile away.

Copolymer
Lighter sizes of Fluoroclear (4-6#) stay on top until it breaks surface tension. Heavier sizes are slow sinking. I have to say, this line is one of the poorer performing lines for me, despite being very soft and limber, compared to other coated lines like YZ Hybrid. Be very cautious with knots, and setting the drag.

Copolymer
Fluorocarbon is not a monomer. Most Nylon "mono" these days is some sort of copolymer, which really has been relegated to a marketing term. Whether a copolymer floats depends on the type and brand.

I'm going to be participating in my first tournament in a couple weeks - any tips?
This is the main thing.

What's your confidence lure?
Putting your confidence in one lure seems pretty weak to me. Confidence, can mean many things, and I am on record stating how overrated I think it is.

Best on-board charger?
My Xpress had a 3 bank 15 (5-5-5) amp charger, and it worked fine for me. It's not like I was draining the batteries, then needed to go back out in a few hours. Always had a full charge in the AM.

Hole in fish's lip
You can't make any assumption.

Hole in fish's lip
Yes, usually in a couple weeks, not a long time. It's mainly temperature dependent, fish being cold blooded. I've had some of my larger cichlids get tears from territorial/spawning disputes in my aquariums get similar injuries, or worse sometimes. In the warm water, two to three weeks, and they're healed. If it's really bad, the part of the premaxillary process is really damaged (sliding parts behind the lips) It will heal, but not correctly. Little holes in the flesh part are no problem. You really have to be ignorant, or do a number on them to leave permanent damage.

Air Bass
Not all the time. There are times you can control the fish, there are other times, when you can't control them from leaping, but you can control the flight pattern. Also, *whether.

Knockoffs vs Original Cranks
There's also the case where a "brand name" lure doesn't live up...cough-cough-howmanyxrapsdoIhavetobuytogetonethatsuspends-cough. I won't mention names, lol.

New Boat/Trolling Motor ?
Seems inconvenient to go back to the console, fire up the motor, do a scanning pass, when remember which docks held fish, when you're fishing miles of docks. Your lakes might be different, though. It's not pretty, but with the sensitivity turned up, you can see suspended fish. It's a little distorted, but still works without having to spend the money on 360°. I'm still not sure about having that bulky unit up front on my boat anyway. The best option may be Garmin's Panoptix.

Humminbird or Lowrance?
Feature for feature, Lowrance is on the pricier side. I prefer menu layout on H'Bird. You could also look at Garmin 63CV.
