  1. I'd just get a blue tooth speaker bar that's waterproof and be done with it.
  2. I like the way 65# feels, but 50# will be fine too.
  3. Round net. I like the pool noodle idea. I know quite a few kayak guys that use a smaller version to hold the fish while they get ready with the camera.
  4. I thought the Rocket was just a fast STX. Maybe that's not quite correct.
  5. Those look weak for a rod that pricey. I wouldn't be satisfied at all.
  6. I could care less about built in scent, unless it's Gulp!. Most baits get smeared up with Megastrike anyway.
  7. A spinnerbait is often my first bait I throw in a new area. It goes anywhere, at any depth, and gets through just about all types of cover, save really thick weeds. I don't get fancy with colors or blade types, usually white and chartreuse with a small Colorado blade, and bigger willow, or tandem willow. I've caught so many fish on them. Even when I don't, I get all kinds of info on the terrain and cover, that I can choose the right "drop bait" when I really want to slow down and dissect the spot.
  8. Not really in the market, already have a 5 and 7.
  9. That's the exact one I have. I've had 100% success with it. It's at least a decade old.
  10. I hate to be the "google it" guy, but if you google "floating fish pen" the first two links that come up are exactly what you want.
  11. I use the para cord that came on my plug retriever. It's not worth the cost of a reel, rod, and line when the retriever is around $10.
  12. I was gonna post this today. Hilarious!
  13. End of life for that product. The STX comes in a 8:1, so no need.
  14. I don't like CXX for spinning at all. It is great in 10-15# size for general purpose use. The 10# is closer to 12#, so for cranking it's pretty good stuff. For spinning, I can find nothing better than 6-8# Seaguar Tatsu. It's expensive, but lasts. I have one reel that gets a ton of use that is three seasons old. I'm gonna have to strip it, and re-spool this winter only because it's getting down to a third of it's capacity. As always, KVD L&L after every trip makes any type of line better.
  15. I must be missing something, it goes into the cart at $1500?
  16. That is DEFINITELY not a tiger. What a weird and beautiful pike. I've often remarked that EU pike sometimes have very interesting patterns. Also, nice dink pike, @Tim Kelly
  17. I have at least a dozen rods for fishing worms. Answer the specifics, and you'll get a better response. Otherwise, it's just, "here's my favorite rod I own." You will have no way of knowing whether it will work best for you.
  18. I disagree. Cable steer is more like a manual. Often I use the TM to start movement and stop movement with a quick burst in each direction. Electric steer is WAYYYYYYYYY too slow for that. Believe me, I'm not the only one that uses it this way. Keep in mind, I'm speaking about a 22' boat with a 2.5L motor on the back. Now, when I'm off shore, an automated electric steer is ideal. My buddy has the same boat as mine, but with an electric steer, and I much prefer it fishing off shore wrecks and structure on Oneida or Lake Ontario. Spot lock is a great thing! Especially when you're a mile off shore, with nothing but water on the horizon, and no reference points other than one shore line. It's easy to lose a small rock pile, even with GPS.
  19. Depends on distance and cover you're sending that worm to as well as the weight of the baits you're using.
  20. I think you'd be happier with the MH/F. The spinning rod ratings are don't run heavier, like the casting rods. Personally, I'd be throwing them on a casting rig, but I understand not everyone likes them.
  21. By a lot. I have several carbon framed reels, some very high end, some lower end, and they all have lasted and performed well.
  22. Nice catch @Turtle135. The guides alone make the Crush worth the $30, let alone the dual brakes and upgraded drag.
  23. That's mostly up to you. I don't use much Lew's gear. Maybe some of the Lew's fans will chime in.
  24. It looks your paying $30 more for dual brakes and carbon fiber drag on the Crush. Otherwise, they're pretty similar.
