  1. Color isn't really a biggie for me - Something black, something brown, something green, for low visibility to clear, in that order, is the general recommendation.
  2. This actually how you should fish it, like draggin a football jig. You are mimicking a distracted, feeding baitfish.
  3. Did you check Lakemaster? That's what I use, they have just about every mud puddle in my area.
  4. GPS + mapping is a must have with me. You get it on most units these days anyway.
  5. Two for the day... I miss this wonky, snotty little kit. Tama Starclassic B/B. Cymbals by Dream, Sabian, and Zildjian. Low boy hardware by Gibralter.
  6. No clue, I haven't fished with him in the rain. I'll ask, though.
  7. Not much to see here, just some $18 peanut butter.
  8. The touch screen is pretty sweet. My buddy has a Solix 12 on his boat, and I had a hard time going back to the buttons on my Helix.
  9. I've caught many fish from water greater than 35', and catch and immediate release causes no harm that I can see.
  10. Incredible. It's all over SBU.
  11. 20# CXX.
  12. Save up, and get a Hard Gill floater, if you're fishing ponds with blue gill. I've caught well into the hundreds of bass with that one bait. The others you mentioned are all good baits as well.
  13. This is probably the tenth time I've posted this in a week: Use Plano Hydroflow boxes. Watch your rust issues disappear. Seriously. Save the desiccant for storing sneaker, and dryer sheets for laundry.
  14. This was an eye opener my first time fishing down south. Anytime I encounter "boat lanes" up here, it's a channel, and there's a no wake zone. The St. Lawrence can get hairy with wakes from barges and freighters, and you have to keep your head on a swivel.
  15. According to the inventor of the baits, anything other than the surface running baits require a 1/4 oz. weight to activate the flapping action. That info is on their rigging tips pages. So, it isn't really that your not getting the hype, just using the baits incorrectly, and therefore not realizing the results so many others have. Try again with proper rigging, and see if that works better for you.
  16. I like brass, lead, and steel. It's easier to match a steel 1/8 oz. weight to a 10" worm than a tiny sliver of a tungsten bullet.
  17. @TOXIC is right on with that post. I'll add that certain props will offer better bow lift as well. My Trophy Plus 27 (cupped to 28 four blade) doesn't have the potential top speed that the cupped 31 3 blade I tried out, but, it can lift that bow on my almost 22' boat with a blip of the hot foot.
  18. He sure does. This makes up for any discomfort I get watching him during competition.
  19. Dog eared would have tabs on the outside. Keyed has a squared off hole in the center. The best way is to go in from behind with a small tool like a slot head screw driver. Cover the tip with vinyl electrical tape to protect the part. If there are dents, or the washer is bent, you'll have to order a new part from the manufacturer because the drag won't function properly.
  20. I get them for free.... Charlie is my grandfather. https://www.charliesrestaurants.com/
  21. There some days I caught nothing on topwater, if that's what you mean. I know how to adjust
  22. Sandy is fun. I usually stick to the smaller, less traveled ditches. Hit me up if you're ever near Rochester.
