  1. Bourgeois means middle class. Good deals though. Is that overstock.com?
  2. 1. No. Just don't torque the jaw. 2. Wet you hands and any surface the bass touches. Keep off the carpet. The slime coat isn't that delicate. 3. Not a little one. 4. Properly use, they are fine. It's not that anyone is a tree hugger, it's that it shows a lack of respect, and sets a bad example for others - anglers and non anglers. Remember, what someone sees you do is being judged. All anyone can do is at least try to do their best.
  3. His rant was about the idiots that leave the gripper hanging from their jaw, or torque the jaw with it. No different than jaw-jacking that you see on TV all the time too. My other favorite is when guys shake the fish out of excitement. These goofs on YouTube are setting an example for their fans. They should step up.
  4. I do fish them. This is it to a "T." HAVE FUN!!!!
  5. Most 12-14' boats are much higher, like 800+ lbs. Heck, my plastic kayak is rated for 550. Some boats have a person weight recommendation, too. But you do want to take the additional weight into consideration.
  6. I would not trust a loop connection. An Alberto knot is my preferred connection knot.
  7. This statement alone discredits everything in the article. Never mind it's 20 years old. "Durocher explained that many deeply hooked fish were saved merely by clipping the line at the fish's mouth without trying to remove the hook. Strong body acids soon dissolved the hook, the wound healed and the fish got along fine. Of 17 fish hooked this way, nine survived." That just isn't true, and the advice is wrong.
  8. If you are going with braid, I would not spool up with less than 40#. I prefer how 50# handles. It's not about break strength, and all about how the line handles on casting gear. 50# is the equivalent diameter to most 10-12# single filament lines.
  9. I don't watch any of it. Shows I watch about fishing are Lunkerville, MLF, and Hunt for Big Fish. Far more interesting.
  10. I did it to a buddy's truck. No windows were harmed, just my ego, lol.
  11. Pro tip: roll down the windows, and run the straps though them. Ask me how I know how well this works, LMAO.
  12. I got a "pro deal" on my Thule. Even with a deep discount, I had sticker shock.
  13. Watching kids jaw-jack dink bass on YouTube isn't on my agenda. "Look at me! Look at me!" Please no.
  14. Great post, @Darren.
  15. Casting decks in a semi-V is disaster in the making. Just put a flat floor in with some marine carpet. Also consider carpeting the benches.
  16. I didn't make it past strobing. Strobing is a made up word. Reminds of how the Ned rig is over explained.
  17. Popmax has accounted for more fish in the past two years than any other bait I've thrown.
  18. Keep your eyes peeled on craigslist. Even if it's the wrong model, you may only need to but the risers. Don't waste your money with J-hooks or cradles. Just put some pipe insulation or pool noodles, and strap her in. Takima and Thule are the two best brands.
  19. That's a great plan. Pics of the demo rides!
  20. I don't get landing with grippers? I guess I don't watch enough YouTube. It seems like it would be inefficient. Just net the thing, or belly land it.
  21. Battery might be too much. Anchor?
  22. Throw your tackle bag up there.
  23. Sounds similar to the place near my house I used to teach out of. Get plugged in with them!
  24. This always seems more prevalent in certain brands. The 1-Minus is prime example, as are OG wiggle warts. Rapala is another that comes to mind, especially their X-Raps. One of my reasons for my loyalty to baits like Spro, Lucky Craft, XCalibur (now Boo-Yah) is their consistency. You lose one, and you can buy another and be reasonably assured it will work the same. It's not a bad or good thing, just different angles. Finding a killer Wart that actually is "broken" - hunting, inconsistent wobble, etc. - is like striking gold.
