  1. How about a pic of the one you own. You own one, correct?
  2. Looks like screen printed carbon fiber. Could also be "dipped," like those college mascot reels Ardent was selling. I'm glad you like your reel, and it sounds like its held up. Comparisons to, and claims that its better than a Stradic is interesting, but debatable.
  3. 1. Put some money from each paycheck away in savings. 2. Determine a budget for your boat. 3. When the savings you've accumulated equals your budget, start boat shopping. 4. When you find a boat you like, buy it. In the meantime, fish all the tournaments you want that feature a boat as a prize. Just remember, it's very rare for even a great angler to come out ahead. I think you'd do better in smaller cash payout tourneys.
  4. Yours save a ton of money making your own tackle, if you pick the right tackle.
  5. Boo-yah is a Foxy Brown reference.
  6. Where I live, no pond can hold up to what is an hour less drive in any direction. Boat is an easy choice.
  7. I don't remember not fishing, or at least tagging along with my dad or grandfather for fishing. I have very early memories of my dad catching pike in a creek, sitting by a fire at night waiting for the smelt to run or a bullhead bite, I even remember falling off the dock. Dad says I was just three when those things happened. I guess at some point I started fishing. Haven't stopped.
  8. RIP Stuart. He really was as cool as the other side of the pillow.
  9. I've tried it. Works better on a slower action rod, a little lighter in power than you'd use with fluoro or mono. As always, set the drag to the bait and rod, not the line. I didn't care for the feel of the bait when deflecting off objects. My preference is to use a strong copoly like CXX or a quality fluoro like Tatsu, but my time trying something new tells me braid works fine, and not taboo as many (myself included) have said.
  10. Yup. And we're done here.
  11. Light gray matches everything.
  12. The only knot I use that requires this is an arbor knot.
  13. Same as any other line, Uni, Palomar, Improved Clinch.
  14. The owner asked us not to allow it on our site.
  15. Stem cells… they cured it mice. Hopefully it won't take 20 years.
  16. SCIV possesses a certain crispness over SCIII. I have more Avids than LTBs, but they're both a solid choice. I'd go with an LTB if sensitivity were key.
  17. Scott, they're darn close to a treatment that does. Hopefully in our lifetime we can be done with insulin.
  18. I have an old Zebco 33 loaded with 10# CXX. No issues with all kinds of baits - spinnerbaits, jigs, cranks, topwater, etc. I use KVD L&L after every trip.
  19. Happy Birthday Bud!
  20. It would make a nice tight quarters float rod.
  21. M-blue will change the color of pee, too. Lol.

    $2.89 this morning.
  23. I bet it's methylene blue, not copper sulfate - or a mix of the two. They should be able to see fine.
  24. I don't go up in size, but I go up in strength. Owner 3x.
  25. Would make a great frog reel on a heavy spinning rod. You can load that reel with 40# braid no problem. I've set quite a few non bait cast users up with this very setup.
