  1. Skip the 78, and get a 100 or bigger. Seriously.
  2. Hey man, I picked America's Team.
  3. MS Am. Shad, Aurora Black, Ghost Minnow.
  4. Start googling....good luck, might be a tough find. I know when sourcing parts for vintage reels, I usually end up buying a whole donor reel off eBay. I had to repair some vintage bantams last year, and I found a few for sale/auction for less than $10.
  5. Like was said, prices ending in .97 are clearance. Clearance sometimes gets huge discounts. When the new Curado G hit the shelves, I was able to buy a couple dozen Es for $75 and Citicas for $50. Gotta keep your eyes open, and ask for price checks.
  6. Beware of absolutes. Not just in fishing....

Just upped my 401k contribution, lol.
  8. Swim Senkos. I don't bother anymore. I know you can catch on them. I won't be, because I don't buy them anymore.
  9. I've sen enough bass caught through the ice to know they don't "hibernate" or go inactive in the dead of winter.
  10. I've caught smallmouth on baits as big as 8", so really, I just go with what ever is close to what I think is swimming around. Generally, I use Keitechs, anywhere from 2" to 5+".
  11. All are rated for both, IIRC.
  12. While it may look exactly the same, The Ceanan is a graphite frome, while the Curado is aluminum. To say they are the same is a little misleading.
  13. E, D, B (simply because age), G, A (no letter). Haven't used a new I yet, just taken apart, though I'd say it ranks at least with a D or E.
  14. I've got a nice stack of Kennedy silver dollars. Some are worth $5 each or more.
  15. Tungsten? That sounds ambitious. I thought you needed a pretty expensive press to work with it.
  16. Jerrah!!!! All hail Jerrah!!!!
  17. At least he roots for his hometown team. I'm a Dallas fan in a sea of Bills/Jets/Gints fans.
  18. NY and NY. There's just about any kind of fishing you could want, world class smallies, but you gotta put up with winter.
  19. Owner, Sampo, Spro.... all make good split rings.
  20. I fish for bass with rod and reel, artificial baits, and what ever it takes to get them to bite. I like to tell what I did, not label it. As far as labeling your techniques goes, I think it's better to qualify, briefly, what your talking about. Someone says, "I powerfished to the win." I might assume that person used cranks, spinnerbaits, and spooks. Another might think he punched the slop with a jig. Even amongst both top level pros, well experienced members here, and people I whose fishing theories and opinions I respect disagree on what is what. This is different than the old, "What is a Texas Rig?" debate. Hopefully Team9 can come up with something soon. I'd like to see the early references, and defer to those.

It's useful when someone accuses of you of making too much. "Hey, now I can afford mustard..." Someday I'll be able to afford a few slices of bologna.
  22. I've got a few different pairs of split ring pliers. A micro screw driver still works best for me. Poke the flat blade through, and then twist it to open the ring.

    Phht! Bourgeoisie Sammich!

Ever hear the expression, "I can't even afford mustard for my mustard sandwich!" Means you have nothing but bread and water....
