  1. BTW, suggested retail on NADA is what they were new. In that case, that's what it cost brand new 26 years ago.
  2. Another $1000, and you can probably get a brand new 4-stroke and a warranty. It's not worth more than $600.
  3. That really sucks.
  4. Names will never hurt me, lol.
  5. If I'm in my boat, they all go. What's more interesting is what's left on the deck at the end of the day. Guess what I caught all my fish on this day.....
  6. Look for a tournament with an open team format that weighs best single person limit. That way, you can fish alone or with a partner. There's a ton of tournaments around here that only require a working livewell and proof of liability insurance. My buddy runs a Monday nighter on Oneida lake. No one cares about whether you're donating to the pot, fishing for money, or just having fun and making friends. These are my favorite format. They can be pretty competitive, too. One thing is for sure, always beware of the guy with little tin tiller. They never come to the weigh in empty handed, and rarely leave empty handed.
  7. I have a wingman I carry daily, mostly for the pliers and screwdrivers, but not for fishing. All the tools I need for that are in my boat.
  8. Excalibur are baits sold in bulk packs to fill up an end cap with affordable baits. Many are similar to other brands, such as Bomber and Heddon. Xcalibur are a mid to high end line of baits to compete with the likes of Spro, LC, etc. Both are made by Pradco. They are not the same.

I haven't seen any below three per.
  10. New reels with rough bearings? Hmmm. Either the process to flush them isn't getting the job done or something's not right from the factory.
  11. With 20# braid, and various leaders, this has been my most versatile spinner. Take it to ponds quite a bit, though I'm not sure why it matters. I'd use it anywhere there are bass. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-DHC5-performa-review.html
  12. Those don't work either, lol.
  13. Pretty good knots to be good at. Add the Palomar and the San Diego Jam, and you'll have more down than me for bassin'.
  14. It's short for "application," which is fancy talk for program. Usually "app" is used in reference to a mobile device, such as a tablet or smartphone.
  15. The skudge puts hair on your chest!
  16. Fluoro separates the men from the boys when it comes to tying strong knots. Any crimp or mangled line above the knot on the mainline, and you can assume you failed. Start over. When cinching the knot down, be sure you dress it with some saliva, and pull slowly so that your cinching it from the tag end, not the mainline. Knots I use with fluoro: Palomar, Cinch, Improved Cinch, Uni, Arbor, Blood, Triple Surgeon's, Alberto, and Nailless. They all work well, when tied well.
  17. You pretty much just have to be a qualifying member, and pay the fee. A few of my friends have done it. Smaller tournaments are usually boater/non boater draw format.
  18. Anyone interested in the Mojo should also take a look at the Eyecon series. Same blanks, different grips and hardware, similar price.
  19. I don't care what they say after I leave the dock. When we get back to the dock, all they'll be doing is complaining about handing their money over to me, anyway.
  20. Do you mean "marshall"? http://www.bassmaster.com/news/2015-marshal-registration-beginning-soon
  21. I prefer a flat sided bait. Flash, in open water, along with the precision in presentation afforded by a weighted bait.
  22. I actually love the word "adroit." One of those $10 vocab words from 10th grade you never get to use.
  23. How about a hundred less for an even mroe appropriate rod for the baits listed: Pinnacle Perfecta DHC5 Micro Casting Rod 7'11" MH Crank
  24. Seemed to me this was brought up back when Larry Nixon was tearing things up. KVD was still an up and coming amateur. Need input from the old farts!
  25. Get well soon, man. I had my own issues with crohn's like symptoms - went away when I was diagnosed and treated for Type 1 diabeetus. In the meantime, try not to laugh at this:
