  1. The only way I could see that happening is if a stringer came loose, and even then, I'd think the hull or top cap would crack.
  2. What is a "hooked hull"? Pics?
  3. I use three rigs for umbrellas, and none of them were bought for this purpose. My flipping stick, a 7'6" XH, my swimbait stick, a 7'9 H, and a jig/worm rod, a 7'4" MH.

    You're never too old.
  5. Lucky Craft Sammy 115 in MS Am. Shad. Preferable the one in my box with the missing eye, and all the scales worn off.

Business Systems Architect for a leading IT consultant firm. I did not go to college for this. I love it. Try a few things, see what you like. You never know. Before this, I imported tropical fish, rare mammals, and reptiles for the pet industry. Before that, I was a rock star.
  7. I use the same uninsulated rain gear I use in the summer. The under layers are where I insulate.
  8. I misspoke...was thinking of the Triumphs.
  9. http://kingfishersociety.com/index.html LOL...
  10. Similar baits go into ziplocs, and the ziplocs go into two of these: http://www.planomolding.com/product.php?BCCID=138&PID=738
  11. The Avid is lighter, and more sensitive. The action is more precise. It also has a better warranty. The Avid is assembled in the USA. The Premier is made in Mexico.
  12. 1. Depends on the species. Trout, salmon, or panfish, I'm more likely to take it. Bass, Esox, or other top predator, probably not. A big walleye, I'd be torn. 2. If it's legal, I'm eating it or feeding it to my dogs. If not legal, it's turtle food. I consider it a minor loss due to attrition.
  13. I don't think it would be "totally worthless" to everyone.... I fish here a lot. Lake Ontario.
  14. The Lindners used to describe this as "slip drifting." Based on video and article content, looks like it kills, and covers a lot of water. Good info.
  15. Must be a little different in my northern, natural lakes. Good info guys.
  16. True, true, lol. I was referring to the JDM Daiwa reels that moved out at a significant discount a few years ago.
  17. Cool, never seen one either.
  18. Gotta love big fish from a kayak!
  19. I would have bypassed the store, and called Abu directly.... 1.800.228.4272
  20. A guy that hasn't backed his drag off for 25 years also hasn't properly cleaned his reel. Take that advice with a grain of salt.
  21. I tie a Palomar to a duo loc snap. Failing that, an improved cinch or Uni knot will work fine.
  22. The center is the drain. The outer two are each a fill hole and overflow/empty hole for the livewell. Since the livewells are above the water line, they will not flood the boat, provided they do not leak.
  23. Took a break from tournaments last year, but fished more than ever. I'll go almost a week before getting the fishing delerium tremens.
  24. Yeah, but the blades lay relatively flat. Five 5" swimbaits twirling in different directions is tough in the wind. Add in that you really want to stop the rig in mid air just before touch down to avoid fouling and orient the rig for retireve, and it gets tiring. It's not for everyone, but when it's on it's silly fun. Catching smallies on a heavy rated rod with 50# braid really reveals their strength. Totally different fight than on light tackle from deep water.
