  1. They'll work.... I haven't used them personally, but I've used other Cabin Creek plastics, and they work well. These have all the elements of a good DS bait.
  2. The Cowgirls are a little more aerodynamic.
  3. For me, it's the right wrist. Gets numb after a while, then numb. The next day it's pretty stiff. It's impossible to play drums the day after throwing a heavy rig for 8 hours.
  4. LOL, the Jets have a better record than all the NFC East.
  5. I use several. Some have big spreads, some are tight, some are light, some have attractors like blades, some with 2, 3, and 5. I find I I like to have a few ready, depending on depth, size of bait, and visibility conditions.
  6. Actually, they have sold them in the past, and Abu is beginning to market them in the US. Though, technically that makes them USDM reels, lol.
  7. Eli is the new Romo. Have a seat with us Cowboy fans.....lol.
  8. I can never tell if this question is really what it says, or is it, "What's the best rod and reel." Same goes for the "If you could only use one bait" threads. Anyway....90% of all bass fishing could probably be accomplished with a 7' MH/F rod, and a decent reel spooled up with 14-17# line. It wouldn't be ideal for some stuff, but it could be done.
  9. Bass boats are expensive, kayaking is an inexpensive option, but paddling is work. A powered kayak as an affordable and relaxing option to the traditional bass boat is a real option for many.
  10. I use a Picasso School-E Rig a Flash Mob Jr. for "finesse" situations. None are thrown in anything less than about 6-7' of open water. For what the OP is trying to accomplish, a donkey rig fluke would be a better choice.
  11. I'd just throw a fluke or a spinnerbait. Umbrella rigs work better in deeper, open water.
  12. Wrong tool for the job if you're getting hung up.
  13. Personally, I don't like ANY of these rigs with a weedless hook. I use the Buckeye J-Will jig head, and it requires no hookset, just let the rod load and hang on.
  14. OK, you're not a mutt face. Sorry, Jeff.
  15. As far as my thoughts on the topic.... If we're talking purely personal fishing craft, e.g. kayaks, I think we're in the midst of a revolution. Between your company, Torqueedo, the various powered kayaks from companies like Ocean Kayak, Native, and even retro fitters like Bassyaks, this is becoming beyond a viable option to something accessible to the masses.
  16. Let's not be naive here...http://www.voltboats.com/home/ A little transparency will go a long way to gaining members trust and input.
  17. Take it easy with that broad brush stroke - you might get some paint on yourself, lol. You can do spinning with frogs, but it takes some digging for the proper rod. I believe Rhapsody, and maybe a couple other small companies make a stick marketed toward bass anglers that is suitable for hollow belly frogs. You'll also want to step outside the usual 1000-2500 series size often recemmended for typical bass fishing. I've set quite a few people up with medium heavy inshore rods meant for reds and snook, and a 4000 or 5000 series reel with a Carbntex drag upgrade. These are great tools for people that don't use baitcasting gear. But none of this addresses the original question..... If you're worried about line visibility, mark it up with a black marker. I find frogging water around pads and slop to be some of the cleares - much clearer than any open water I fish - and don't feel I'm spooking any fish.
  18. An average drum during a tournament can be a let down. Big pike and musky can be a time waster, but they're still fun. If my bag stinks, I'll stick the pike in the weigh bag as a little surprise for the weigh master, lol.
  19. I use resistance to judge whether I'm running the right speed.
  20. That's my bet, or just simply a different paint job. My Alphas are just a Sol with different paint and a TD-Z handle. I'd have to take a closer look at the specs.
  21. Yes, that's the main reason. From the helm, I'm either looking at the map or the scan - rarely both. Up front, I'm often zoomed in on the map, all the while in split screen mode with the scan. That, and I spend more time at the bow.
