  1. The only time my personal info was ever stolen was my bank's fault. Yes, my bank. Not FB. Not a forum. Not eBay. Not through an online store. Not Twitter. Not through some phishing scam or fraud email. My bank. Go figure.
  2. I have no idea what you are talking about. Can you explain?
  3. ALL fish are cold blooded, or endotherms. Different species are adapted to different temperatures. While bass prefer temps in the mid 70s, they certainly can and do live in much cooler, and much warmer waters. Often times, temperatures are the key to unlocking a good bite. OP: Right now in NY, deep ledges near spawning sites are a good bet. So are relatively shallow weed beds. Fish are scattered, so keep moving and you can find them.
  4. We use heavy pegged bullet weights with big flukes as follow up baits when frogging the water willow on Oneida Lake. Creatures and ribbon tail worms catch on the stems. Strike King Caffeine Shad in bright colors, smeared with Megastrike work well for this.
  5. Don't worry, I have all the protection I need....
  6. Then choose "myself only" when you click share. Defeats the purpose of sharing, but if your that worried.... ------------------------------------------------ You can also create lists, with specific themes. I have a fishing list, and share things fishing related with that list. As far as posting pictures of my kids...I'm wondering which one of my close friends that actually can see them will kidnap them. If you actually spend some time in the security settings, you'll see that you can lock your wall down pretty tight - including not allowing your pics to come up in your friends feed when they like them. Location meta data can be hidden, tagged pictures can be set so that you have to approve them before they appear on your wall, heck, anything posted on my wall is subject to review, and not visible to anyone but myself and the person that posted it.
  7. Same stuff that's used for the Stradic CI4. I've literally caught thousands of smallies with mine, and no issues.
  8. I hope FB doesn't tell the government how many fish I catch, or show the IRS pictures of my cat.
  9. No, immediate release or fizzing are the only remedies.
  10. If you want it now, you'll have to get the Core. The CI4 isn't available yet. How the CI4 stacks up against the Core in the real world is just speculation at this point.
  11. The few times I've used 4x4, I would have been up a creek without it, so....
  12. That little shrimp/skud bait looks pretty cool.
  13. In 1988, I ran through a McDonald's sans clothing on a bet. Easiest $50 ever.
  14. This is absolutely CRITICAL to successfully releasing deep water fish.
  15. It looks to be a nice brownie. Congrats.
  16. Skip the fluoro, go with something tougher, like 20# CXX. I use a custom build rod, based off the Saint Croix LTBC79HF for that range of weights. I'm using a Calcutta 200, which is often cited as too small, and truthfully, I can spool it with 25# line and a Hard Gill, but it isn't really a problem in most situations, and I like the smaller reel. I know a lot of guys like the 300 series Curados, and I've also heard great things about the big Lexa. Lastly, you can never go wrong with a Cardiff. Whatever you get have DVT tune it up for you.
  17. Like it or not, Facebook brings BassResource.com to more anglers.
  18. Congrats. Sticking a fiver will get you to throw those baits more often, for sure.
  19. I don't have any one "fish catcher," so I go with variety most of the time. I'll get a new lure, and buy just about every color that appeals to me. Most often that's some craw, shad, or green/blue shiner pattern.
  20. Sensitivity is about the same. I can't tell weight wises, that's close too. The Perfecta's taper is a better fit for the heavier line I'm using with it. The Avid pairs better with the light fluoro. It's basically a trial and error/personal preference thing. Still a tough choice.
  21. I fish some pretty clear lakes. Never had an issue that I could blame on the fish "seeing the hook."
  22. I have both the Avid and the Perfecta (not the micro) and this is a tough choice. I prefer the Perfecta for finesse plastics using 20# Braid (Sufix 832) and leader. It has a little more backbone in moderate to heavy cover. My girlfriend used it this past week for drop shotting smallies on Saranac Lake. She preferred over the Avid, though that was spooled with 6# Invisx, so the braid probably influenced her newb impression.
  23. Hack Attack, Outkast RT Jig, Siebert Big-O, Northstar Flip and Swim are all good designs for heavy weed cover that I use.
