  1. You have a sattelite map in the native GPS app - even better. Want a waypoint, drop a pin. I guess I'm not sure what you're looking to do.
  2. Lol, that's awesome, Robert. Congrats on the new digs. I grew up in the country, and I still love hanging at parents.
  3. I use the floating hard gill. I think it's 5". Used is the way to go for that stuff. Keep your eyes peeled. (null)
  4. Tons of fish, most over 3#. It's my go to bait in certain circumstances. I noticed that bass were blowing up on a Spro Frog, but missing by a foot or more. Turns out they weren't missing at all, but feeding on the curious and distracted blue gills following my frog. Toss the Hard Gill out there, and bang.
  5. Thanks Brian, perfectly described.
  6. I got my rebates in about 2 weeks. I was surprised at how quick it was. I've had other rebates take almost a year to come through.
  7. That's interesting. Yes, in my years in tropical fish import and wholesale, that it is very common for fish to "wash out" when moved or otherwise stressed. Probably a VERY unique set of circumstances. Also, shocked or stressed fish probably won't bite lures.
  8. The Chronarch 200/201e6 is 6.5:1, or 27 IPT.
  9. I like my Daiwa Alphas/Sols medium and deep divers. The ratio is 5.8:1, but that's useless info unless you know that they retrieve around 23" per turn (IPT). IPT is where you compare reel to reel. It's like using engine size in cars. size alone won't tell you as much as a 0-60 time. In the case of divers, a long cast is important. Speed isn't as much a big deal, but I will say the Crazy Cranker was too slow for me, and I simply cannot slow down a 7:1 reel. I do love my high speed Zillion SHA for traps, shallow squarebills, and little wakers. You can general recommendations, but you're really going to have to try it out for yourself.
  10. The cabins fill up fast, but if you just want a tent site w/ electric, should be no problem. Plus they have boat rentals, bait, showers, the whole shooting match. The owner is a class individual. You may want to let active service drop as well - he might hook you up.
  11. I buy a reel and it is defective, I return it to the store, not try to fix it.
  12. None. I can recommend this company, though: http://www.wildwaterflyfishing.com/ If you order, call them first and tell them that I sent you.
  13. Here's the place I stay at: www.mclears.com
  14. Yeah, keep driving to Black Lake, LOL.
  15. It's all about exposure to sunlight. Depth, cover and water clarity play a part. Deep water bass: Shallow slop bass They also seem to darken up a bit as summer progresses.
  16. My experience with them is limited to ordering parts. Most of the time, unless they are very expensive parts, they send them under good faith warranty. These are old reels, and that they stand by them speaks volumes to me. In fact just last Friday, I ordered a new worm drive and pawl to replace on a VERY well used Calcutta. No charge. Now, as far as sending reels in for repair....I have to assume they probably do have a back log of a few weeks. Heck, I have a backlog of up to 4 weeks in the winter for cleanings. Just curious, what happened to the spool?
  17. Repeat after me: Lift, and separate!
  18. Thanks man, that's super generous, and something I'd like to do regardless of the boat situation. Thanks to the rest for the well wishes. The claims adjustor has been really cooperative, though slow. I think that's more of a learning curve thing - they don't see very many boat collisions, and it's not like I need the boat to get to work.
  19. I wouldn't know where it is on your motor. It's like an alternator, it charges the battery. All I know is I've had one replaced. I don't recall it being terribly expensive.
  20. You need to cross their eyes, and get them out of cover quickly when punching. It isn't the place for weak hooksets.
  21. Probably looking to replace a bad rectifier.
