  1. My preferred commercially made rig is the Picasso School-E Rig. It has a resin head, and isn't that heavy at all. I have no issues throwing it on a heavy/fast rated rod rigged with 1/8 oz. ballheads, and 4" Keitech Swing Impacts. The whole thing is less than 2 oz.
  2. Some clown has two new articles up there! http://www.bassresource.com/
  3. KVD Line & Lure Conditioner really helps extend the life of any line type. Depends on the line and what I'm doing. Braid might get reversed or changed out entirely 2-3 times a season. CXX gets changed pretty frequently, maybe every 3 weeks, mostly form getting low from retying. Fluorocarbon usually gets changed once per season, or when it gets low. I am running a little test on one reel: It's been almost three years since I spooled up with 6# Seaguar InvisX, and cannot tell the diffeence between that line and barely used (broken in) line. Seems like fluorocarbon should be the obvious choice for the casual fisherman that might leave his gear sitting weeks at a time.
  4. I eat a little less if I guzzle some water, but yeah I know about hydrating.
  5. Probably doesn't matter. I use two rigs for this, one is a 7.1:1 Zillion, the other a 5:1 Calcutta.
  6. Side sweeping hookset. I like a fast or x-fast rod in medium power for this. I'm not tall, so I prefer a rod under 6' 6".
  7. Keep preaching. It gets tiresome, but it's an important message!
  8. I'm pretty close, now that I gave up pop. The big 35 pack is almost gone, and I bought it Saturday. I like it room temp if I'm guzzling it. Cold is OK for sipping or at dinner.
  9. Well, I'm officially out. Kind of sucks too. I was looking forward to meeting you all. Next year, maybe.
  10. After a friend showed me that I could feel someone humming with an Ugly Stik, I pretty much dismissed the "throat test."
  11. The Owner Jig Rigs I bought and tank tested have a welded ring to tie to, and a split ring with the weight attached. There's a lot of freedom of movement, and I suspect the two rings are key.
  12. I use JJ's and Megastrike as "add on" scents. I also have good results with Gulp! and Gulp! Alive as well as Powerbait and Keitech scented baits. I do not believe that they "attract" bites, but I do believe that bass take longer to reject a scented bait.
  13. Good, now get it over with. Three days and nights of white knuckles and homicidal rage, but I promise it goes away. Beer and Ben & Jerry's got me through it. I still get crazy cravings, but I know they will subside in about 90 seconds. That's a big thing for anyone that is quitting - the craving subsides, and they get fewer and farther between. But yeah, smoking was big in my family. You couldn't "graduate" to the grown up table on Thanksgiving until you smoked, LOL. Now, most everyone has quit.
  14. Considering most kids don't start really reading until 4-6 years old, that is amazing.
  15. Maybe. I have an app installed on my phone, though.
  16. Smoking. Quit over a year ago, though.
  17. Get your Coke from the International aisle in the grocery. You're looking for it to be made in Mexico. It has real sugar, comes in glass bottles, and tastes like the Coke from my childhood.
  18. We have a ton of them up here. Glad to see them making a comeback in your area. They are pretty cool to watch.
  19. Same thing I already had, Maxxum 70. Actually have three of the things now, but only a back up and the new one work. Got it on sale for $759 and will get a $50 BPS card as a rebate, along with the points.
  20. To me, this sounds like you are equating rod movement with sensitivity. You are missing out on a great fishing experience, if so. With graphite rods, you feel the bite and do not need the fish to take off and tug at your line before detecting the strike. It's an improvement for fishing contact baits, like jigs and Texas rigged plastics. Furthermore, the stiffness or power of many braphite blanks is STRONGER than glass, and will allow you to get fish out of very heavy weed cover. That's something that was a struggle with glass tackle.
  21. Something like $2K, but I bought a trolling motor, two rods, and four reels, as well as a bunch of baits.
  22. Come in the money on the next one. I didn't blank my two dayer on Champlain, but I came in dead last. Next tournament came in 2nd. Champlain was a distant memory by the time the next tournament came around. You have to have a short memory when it comes to competing successfully.

Try splitting the paddles for more action. On a 1/4 to 3/8 oz. weighted T-rig, they glide nicely in weed pockets as they drop. I prefer them to beaver style baits much of the time.
  24. Here's the app: http://www.invisionpower.com/suite/iphone I actually like it better for just reading posts for my enjoyment when not moderating.
