Your favorite spinnerbait.
hey josey, I talked to a guy at BPS. He said that they get the t-2's in a week or so before, then they hold them backstocked until close the night before, stock them up for the next day. Start of business, first come first serve. Everybody else gets a raincheck. I tried to do some searching on-line for colors and what not. I could'nt find anything.

Tackle box choices
cabelas makes an advanced angler binder that holds plastics in pages. It's the deminsions of a 3700 box. I have two that fit in my cabelas magnum bag fins with room to grow.

Permanent marker on lures?
so do you guys write on your lures with a marker?

Good Morning from the Atlantic
Seriously LBH you may be able to pimp your work for a little extra cash. I worked on the account and creative sides in advertising for about 5 years. If you burn those up on a disc and send them out, you may get some takers who need imagery for certain things. PM me if you want some specifics on how to get a foot in, I'd be glad to help.

Lake types
hey crestliner, that link took me to another search engine kind of thing...... Are there any resources that have the various types of structure defined? I can point to channel swings and points and so on so forth, but I can't say to you "this here is a channel swing." I just see the various changes and differences.

Permanent marker on lures?
With the exception of DT's, I write the diving depth of all my cranks on the bottom with a sharpie. It's a small spot, but I've never noticed a difference.

Lake types
First off, I hope this is the right place for this question. I apologize in advance if it isn't. I know very little about what the different names are for different lake types. Can you guys enlighten me? What I'm looking for is what different catagories lakes fall into i.e. a resevior. What makes a lake a certain thing? Give me examples and criteria, I'd like to learn as much as possible.

WHY
FFI- I've never heard "patties slapped" and that's friggin hilarious, I honestly laughed out loud. LBH- When you reach that many posts, it's in a catagory by itself. Seriously though, fourbizz has a good point about guaging personality. The hard part is when the people who are established forget that some people don't know them, and then wind up as the butt of a joke or are subject to some unecessary comment. It's just a matter of social grace. You would'nt walk by a conversation on the street with a couple of strangers, listen for a bit, then roll your eyes and go "......peshhh, you're an idiot." It's rude, and a good way to get hurt. There's a fine line between playing the devil's advocate and then just being a jerk. Why argue about an opinion anyway? What's the saying about arguing with an ***hole?

EVERYONE!!
Cool, thanks for the info. How did you guys get this memo?

WHY
I would think that it's hard to label somebody a "poser" if you don't know ANYTHING about them personally. I think it safe to say that only a handful of the members here even know each other. That would mean that you're either the self proclaimed barometer of poser-ness, or you just assume that some people are wrong because you think that you are right. Having watched as a non-user here for awhile, it seems like people with tenure are allowed to do some things that are straight up rude sometimes that other people are not. It's sort of accepted as the cultural norm. It's not forbidden to call someone on BS here from what I understand. It does, however, help your case if you have some sort of fact-based information to show that what they said is actually BS, and not just something that you don't agree with. It's possible that the site has taken a slant towards what you think it is because the respectful/mature/knowledgeable folks get tired of the boo-hooing by some of the eliteists and leave. This is a shared community that has an open membership. Some have just been here longer than others, that's all your post count means. The way you carry and represent yourself as a person is what garners you respect.

CFF 1.5 that's a good idea. Thanks for putting that up. I'd never seen those before.

falcon boxes
I have the one for spinnerbaits and buzzbaits and like it a lot. It's kind of an akward shape as compared to the standard 3600 and 3700 sizes. It's the best method that I've seen for storage of that kind in a tackle bag. I have'nt really seen a lot though in all fairness.

Bandit crankbait users
Thanks for your input fellas (and ladies), As it stands, I'm getting the 300 series because I could use some cranks that run in that range. It'll probably be the chart. shad, rootbeer, and pearl red eye. I amassed around $200 in BPS gift cert. recently so I'm just looking to get some things that I don't normally spend my own money on. Bandit cranks being one of those things.

Mickie is an artist.
$150 geesh..... That's like tying a revo SX to your line. Probably would catch more fish though seein' as how it has hooks and what not. I bet LBH does not have one of those.

Springfield XD 40- any experience?
Boy you showed yourself there... I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean Burley..........I guess it's better than a remington 870 or conan's sword. Different strokes for different folks. Anyways, you're obviously an expert on concealed weapons and weapon retention and I'm way out of my league. You win. Genein - If you could get away with something other than a waistband holster, check out the blackhawk by CQC. It's super light and made of a durable plastic material. It has a retention lever which, in my opinion, is important. You may have to get a holster for the opposite of your dominate hand also. Example: If you're right handed and going to carry the gun IWB in the small of your back, it may need to be a left-handed holster so that you can draw it with your right hand. Make sense? It's hard to explain now that I try. Disregard if oyu already knew that. Also, if you're not set on the springfield, the glock 27 is a great little pistol. Light weight at full capacity with a plusone grip extension to. It makes for a nice compact concealed weapon. That's what I have.

Springfield XD 40- any experience?
: Concealed... Nice eye roll. Why not be prepared? Thanks for your opinion on my opinion though. Just to validate that it is possible, here's an example http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22940455/ What's the difference between under a counter and in your waistband? Since we're sharing. A 1911 is a terrible choice for a concealed weapon. :

Springfield XD 40- any experience?
IWB = inside the waist band. Maybe look into a holster with some degree of retention. If that's not for you, you might want to study up on how to keep a hold of your gun in a fight. If I were a bad guy and I didn't have a gun, I'd take yours.

browning combo in bps classic sale
fellas, I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes here by re-posting this. There's been a few posts based on speculation and assumed knowledge about this set-up. I bought this exact same thing last year. The reel is good, it's a legitimate browning high-end midas reel. The rod is a piece. It's not any of the mainstream browning line of rods. It's a cheap pass-it-off as a combo rod. I was thinking it was going to be something nice (like some of you are) and was dissapointed when I found out that it was not. To answer your question lunkerfever: The reel is worth $90. The rod is far from awesome, and is not a midas rod. LAO - it's not the same rod. Thank you for posting the info.

LAO - is this the rod you got with the $90 midas baitcast combo?

Bandit crankbait users
Fellas, I'm going to pick up some bandit cranks later this week. I've never used them, so I was wondering which ones you have (100, 200, flat max, etc) and what you think are some of their productive colors? I don't really need anything deeper than 14 feet, that is unless they make some sort of super-awesome-deep-diving crankbait.

browning combo in bps classic sale
I digress: The gold version has 10 bearings. Not sure how many the other has.

browning combo in bps classic sale
I bought one last year. The reel is worth the $90. The rod is a P.O.S. You won't be getting anything as a bargain per se, because I doubt most people would use the rod much. If you're looking for a good reel, this is not the rod to put it on. Just assume that you're paying $90 for the reel. There are two versions of the midas. One comes only with the combo and is called the midas gold. It has 8 bearings I think. It also has some gold accents on the handle and the spool. The other has more bearings but I think it's only one or two. Both have the dual braking system which, once dialed in, is pretty awesome. Overall, if you handle it and decide you like the reel, it's worth $90 dollars. At least it was for me. Hope that helps some.
