  1. Ghost, you will get a rain check. If you're going to go the route of calling the store, ask for the manager of the fishing dept. or the GM of the store. That person will have the most knowledge of what is going to happen, and should need be, the power to make things happen for you.
  2. Is it out-of-stock on-line? Or is it not at your store?
  3. Dear God, I Miss My mommy My mommy is a policeman, she wears a suit of blue; she didn't come home from work last night, daddy says she's in heaven with you. I'm worried about my mommy Lord, she's never been away this long before; daddy cried when he told me we that wouldn't see mommy no more I don't know what it was that daddy was trying to explain; he said the police were after a bad man, and somehow my mommy was slain. Now I don't know what that means Lord, all I know is we miss mommy a lot; because tomorrow is my birthday, and I sure hope she hasn't forgot. Lord if my mommy is up there in heaven, please tell her as soon as she is free; to hurry back home as fast as she can, because we miss her, daddy and me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A policeman was killed last night. He died while protecting your rights. His creed was to protect and serve. This fate he didn't deserve. A mom and dad have lost a son. So many other jobs he could've done. His wife and kids are left alone. Their daddy won't be coming home. His fellow officers are hurt so deep. For a fallen brother they weep. The morning paper will print a story. About a policeman who died in glory. The flags will fly at half mast. Politicians and citizens will seem sad. The funeral is tomorrow at noon. It will all be over very soon. By next week they will have forgot. That a policeman was killed last night.
  4. I believe they send you one if you 1. are a rewards member 2. get the catalogs 3. have ordered on-line or from the catalog before. Do you get the catalog?
  5. anybody?
  6. Jigman - Here's the finished test. I put one on a pop-r as well. dave- I added a dab of glue to the tubing on the opposite side as the hook eye. No lost silicone. This took about 3-5 mintues to do. It takes me about 3-5 minutes to tie one in the traditional way. same same. Tying the skirt material to the hook does'nt work so well. It tends to "squirt" side to side on the hook so to speak. You end up with all your stuff on one side of the hook. It's not very uniform.
  7. Guys who make tackle, I took some heat shrink tubing, stuffed it with cut pieces of silicone skirting (1" - 1/2" length) stuffed all of that over the shank of a treble, lit the tubing so that it molded to the shank. The pressure on the tubing caused the skirting to flare slightly. I have, what looks like to me, a pretty good dressed treble in a none-conventional way. See any problems with this method as opposed to the wrapped feather type?
  8. hey sorry bassin-man, I didn't see your question when I posted all the others.
  9. Good luck to you. I have a question about the posted comment on the article. The person who responded seems less-than-enthusiastic about the idea of "high end" in that area. Is there some sort of traditional vs. modern dichotomy in regards to the proposed changes in this district? Is this person part of a larger group, or an isolated grouch?
  10. The one I should have came in the mail today. Alright then.

I don't have a scanner anyways. Sorry dude. Is it on the site yet?
  12. I didn't get mine in the mail yet, but I got one by other means. I just added a post in everything else. If you want to know about some gear, I'll be happy to tell you.
  13. I have one of the flyers that is yet to be mailed out. It has all the stuff that's on-sale, and the one day only sale items as well. It may vary slightly from store to store, but this is all the major store items that will be marked down everywhere. Since there is a ton (everything from line, to boat batteries), I'd be happy to respond to questions about items that you want to know about, but there is way too much to put it all in one post. Just putting out the offer!
  14. Tazer is trying to sell guns to civilians with a 30 second burst aimed at womens self defense. Allen Neat. That way it runs for an extra long time when it gets taken away from, and used against that special someone you bought it for...... Anywho, I just ordered an x-rap sure-set series in the mossyback blue color. Not so crazy about the sure-set hooks, but I really liked this color. Does anyone have it?
  15. I saw an article about the chigger craw and that it was rigged with a 5/0 hook. I was suprised by that and it made me wonder what sizes you guys use for which lures. example: 1/0 octopus = dropshot, 5/0 g-lock = craws, etc. etc. I'm not asking for advice on how to buy hooks. I'm looking for what you use.
  16. Gents, I'm going to be doing some upgrading to my boat (18' glass nitro 90hp merc). I'd like your input on a few things: 1. the best top-shelf 12v trolling motor 2. the best economical 24v trolling motor Also, how much work would I be looking at to put one of the recessed foot-pedal mounts on a glass boat? I'm looking to re-carpet in the future and am considering doing both at the same time.
  17. I'll bite (and hijack my own post), why'd you get tazed munkin? Drive stun or probes? Ever been hit with real pepper spray? I'd take the five seconds of voltage over the spray any day of the week. I'd even really consider taking a bean bag round over the spray again. Why would a law abiding citizen get tazed?
  18. Since you're talking about pegging them, I'm guessing you mainly used them for t-rigs? If so, I see what you mean. I don't get a huge advantage either from tungsten in t-rig and dropshots. I think it's mainly because the weight isn't dragged as much in those applications. I do feel a noticeable difference when carolina rigging though. If you didn't already know, tungsten is much better than lead for the waterways in terms of enviromental impact. Hope that helps a little.
  19. It sems as though some people are taking offense to some of the responses on here. Just to clarify. The only question I asked was if there was a name for it. I agree that it's probably an honest mistake. I also agree that it's the electronic equivelant of not listening to a conversation and just waiting for your turn to talk. It does validate what a person has to say, it also shows that some people just can't not have the answer.
  20. MAttfly, I'm not sure that I understand what your asking? Could you clarify what it is you want to know please?
  21. Do any of you forum savvy gents know what it's called when someone does this? A member asks a question. Another member answers his question. Immediatly after that post, or a few posts later, another member gives the same answer for the same question. Essentially, that guy just repeats what the other guy already said. It would seem that there has to be some sort of pop-culture name for this. I'd like to provide an example but I don't want to dime anyone out.
  22. I have a rod tote that I use to stow my stuff sometimes. It might be a little cumbersome for you because it holds eight. It's a well-made product though. You might look into some neoprene reel covers. I've never used them, but it seems like they may accomplish your goal. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0001994010319a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=rod+tote&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=rod+tote&noImage=0
  23. tungsten weights. It's not worth the shipping if you just need the weights. Then you end up paying more at a shop when you do need them.
  24. Adding to what some of the others have posted. I know that shimano will not be participating in the reel trade-in. Which is kind of a bummer since the trade-in reels go to CAST. If you link to the BPS site from the banner here, you can look up the store site for your specific store. From there you can look at the current circulars, or flyers, that will detail the sales specifically. You can also call, ask to speak to someone in fishing and ask them if the larger items you want are going to be on sale. I've been following this religiously because I live 20 minutes from the olathe and independence locations.
  25. Sam, thanks for the explination. I got the joke though. I just figured that maybe hookemdown was looking for a legitamite answer to his question.
